Why the Lines at These 4 Rides Are Suddenly Growing in Disney World

Summer has arrived in Florida, and Disney World is starting to heat up!

While we’re constantly talking about the best ways to beat the heat in the parks by packing a few of our favorite essentials and picking up a few freebies along the way, sometimes there’s just nothing better than getting full-on drenched to cool off!

When you think of cooling off at Disney World, you might be more prone to thinking about taking a dip in the pool or visiting a splash pad or stream of water spurting out around the park (we’re looking at you, Spitting Camel). If you’re really looking to get really soaked and have a little extra fun in the process, you’ll want to turn your attention to Disney World’s water rides inside the parks.

They’re truly everything that makes up an ultimate thrill ride — and if you’re going to get completely soaked, you might as well have some fun doing it! From sharp corner turns to running rapids and even a huge plunge down into a bayou, there’s a water ride for everyone to enjoy at Disney World.

What is the best time to ride these water rides AND enjoy cooling off during your hot summer day at the park? Great question! For Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom, you can expect to wait around 70 minutes to ride throughout most of the day.

Since this is a solid place to soak yourself thoroughly, you might want to aim to ride this one a bit earlier in the day, so you’re drying off later when it’s super hot out.

While you might not get drenched on Pirates of the Caribbean, you could get a refreshing splash to the face depending on which side of the boat you’re on! You should expect to wait around 20 minutes for this one at any given time of the day.

Over in EPCOT at Frozen Ever After, it’s not just the ending splash that you’re ready to feel, it’s that indoor queue sitting in the sweet A.C.!

Recently, we’ve seen these wait times average around 50 minutes, so you’d also get out of the sun for a good break if you time your ride just right.

And, finally, over at Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, this could be the ultimate cool-down ride, champ! There’s no seat on this ride’s vehicle that will guarantee you safety from a wave of water rising up and over the backside of your seat as you conquer the rapids ahead.

Most recently, you can expect to wait around 30 to 40 minutes on average to take a plunge on this ride, along with a few of your friends. No matter which of Disney World’s rides you choose, though, you can’t go wrong with trying any way you can to stay cool and out of the sun, especially during the hottest parts of the day.
