We just completed a trip to Disney and stayed in Port Orleans French Quarter. We were assigned to unit #7. We liked being out of the busy area. Nice and quiet and the walk to the restaurant was very pleasant.

Pros:

The refrigerator in the room was contained in the cabinet next to the drawers. It was a standard size for a hotel found everywhere while traveling. It was nice to keep water and food cold. Boat trip was complementary and not much of a a wait to Disney Springs.

Cons:

Can’t think of any.

Stayed late August 2023, lovely, quiet resort. Small in size so all buildings are a short walk to food court, front desk, buses, and most importantly, fresh made to order beignets! Enjoyed taking the boat to Disney Springs, nice alternative to the bus. Staff went out of their way to help and answer questions. Already booked this resort for my next visit.

Pros:

Small, quiet, close to Typhoon Lagoon and Disney Springs. Compact and easily accessible to main parts of resort

Cons:

None

Stayed in September of 2022. Waitress at lounge was rude. Tv was always down when we turned it on. Maintenance would fix it but it would not work after shutting it off.

Pros:

The gift shop cast members were awesome and beignets are delicious.

Cons:

Tv didn’t work and rude cast members

My family and I just stayed here this month and it was one of my favorites so far! I loved how small the resort is compared to some of the others. Everything was so accessible. We were in building one which was at the edge of the resort and were still only a few minutes walk from the main building. We even were able to have connecting rooms which was very nice.

We all had the exact same word to describe the resort: quiet. Because it's so much smaller and a little further back, the evenings were so quiet. After a loud day of parks it was nice to come back and relax. The rooms we very nicely decorated. Not super "Disney" forward but elegant with the headboards and table and chairs. I was a little bummed there was no microwave in the room to reheat food from an earlier dinner, but there was one in the dining area so I could do that. Dining area was nice, the beignets were of course the star. Otherwise, though, the food court food was super basic, nothing to write home about.

Having just been at All Star Movies and seen the renovated bathrooms, the shower and toilet room was a bit disappointing, but it was fine overall. The boats to Disney Spring were very nice, but on weekends and evenings, that line is LONG. I waited 3-4 boats to get to the Springs and nearly missed my dinner reservation. Conversely, while buses were the only way to the parks, because the resort is so small we never had to wait for a second bus to any park. Highly recommend and would love to stay here again.

Pros:

Beignets. QUIET. Small in size. Comfy rooms.

Cons:

Old bathrooms. Hot tub is not deep enough to really function. long lines for boats

Stayed here for 4 nights and would 100% do it again! Perfect resort for all types of people and a great price for the experience you get.

Pros:

Pricing, boat to Disney Springs, pool with waterslide, compact and quiet

Cons:

Only buses to the parks and the rooms lack distinct theming

Just got back from our 6th visit to POFQ. It doesn't get old coming back again and again. Such a lush environment, quiet, compact, inviting. Can't wait for the next time

Pros:

Quiet, compact. Never had any long waits for buses or boats. Great cast members.

Cons:

never had any

We really enjoyed our stay at the French quarter. This resort is smaller which meant it was really quiet! The theming here is fun and there were so many places to sit and relax around the resort. I actually found a bench by a fountain and read my book. The beignets were amazing and I loved that there was a boat you could take to Disney Springs. Since the resort was small, you were pretty close to the bus stop and the lobby. The one thing I would say needed improvement were the rooms. They were nice, they just definitely need to be updated.

Pros:

Small and quiet, fun New Orleans theme, beignets, boat ride to Disney Springs.

Cons:

Rooms need updated, only bus transportation to the parks.

Spent mid August at POFQ with family, which included grandkids age 4 and 6. My wife and I have stayed at POFQ numerous times and felt for our family it was the best choice. It absolutely was!!! We were able to get back to the resort almost every day and the kids really enjoyed the pool, before we headed off to dinner. Lots of people but the pool was not crowded. The food Court was a great start to the day and a pause after getting back from dinner. We were in different buildings but being a smaller resort we were not that far apart. The trips to Disney Springs on the boat was another real treat. Hoping we can do this again with our other son and his young family.

Pros:

Small resort but a lot of character. Very kid friendly. Great Staff.

Cons:

Some have said buses are an issue, however we were there at a busy time and only once had to wait for another bus, but it was only a short wait. This even with a stroller

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. From the moment we walked to the front doors, we were greeted by a cast member who then called our 3 year old son by his name and gave him some Mardi Gras themed coins to throw into the lobby fountain, which felt magical. Being from Louisiana, we had high expectations on how Disney represented New Orleans and they exceeded in theming and food by leaps and bounds. This resort really felt like home to us.

Pros:

Resort size was the biggest pro to us, comparing it to the value resorts we have stayed at in the past. Also, BEIGNETS!!!

Cons:

Buses generally were not a problem, but we attempted to go to Hollywood Studios in the afternoon twice, and both times we had an extremely long wait for a bus and then had to share stops with the Riverside resort. These were the only times we had to share a route with Riverside the entire trip.

We enjoyed our stay here! Fun theming and the beignets were delicious. The resort is smaller which we actually enjoyed.

Pros:

Beignets! Smaller resort meant it was quieter and easily walkable. The boat to Disney springs was super fun and we loved the theming here.

Cons:

The rooms feel a little older/ need some updating. The buses are the only mode of transportation to the parks.
