If You Don’t Stay Until This Disney World Park Closes, You’re Missing Out

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Disney’s Animal Kingdom may be one of the most underrated parks in all of Disney World. Even with all the construction happening there right now, there is still SO much to see and do there.

There’s plenty of things to do to fill a day at Animal Kingdom, but one thing a lot of people are missing out on happens later…at night. Sure, Animal Kingdom tends to close earlier than the other parks, but if you’re not staying until the park closes, you’re missing out.

For starters, if Animal Kingdom isn’t closing until after sunset, you’re missing out on Pandora all lit up at night. This is something you don’t ALWAYS get to see, but staying until the park closes to see all that bioluminescence is something you won’t forget.

But there’s another reason to stay until the park closes, too: Tree of Life Awakenings. This is a gorgeous projection show that takes place on the Tree of Life. The show happens every 10 minutes after dark, so it’s not like it even takes up a lot of your time.

However, the best reason to stay in Animal Kingdom until it closes is the wait times. Wait times for most rides drop significantly just before the park closes, meaning you can ride Flight of Passage, which often has hour and multi-hour waits, with a shorter wait time (for example, it was 40 minutes at park closing).
