Are the Disney World Holiday Crowds Finally Going Down? Let’s Look at the Numbers

The crowds at Disney World are no joke, and while Christmas Day wasn’t crazy busy this year, the days around it have been. The end of December going into January has created huge wait times that make us locals say, “Yeah, I’ll come back another time.”

Now that it’s getting further into January and the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend hasn’t started yet (which also brings in massive crowds), are the lines finally dying down? Is now the time to head to Disney World? Let’s check it out!

Here’s a look at the wait times for Saturday, January 3rd, 2026. 

Magic Kingdom

I am very happy to say that no ride got over two hours, and if you saw the wait times from the day before (which you can check out here if you want to see), you’d be HAPPY that TRON Lightcycle / Run was only at 95 minutes. A majority of the rides stuck around 30 to 40 minutes, making it a pretty chill day in Magic Kingdom.

I don’t really know what’s going on with EPCOT, but Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was around 135 minutes multiple times throughout the day. Usually, when there isn’t an EPCOT festival happening, EPCOT gets quiet, but despite it being festival-less, lines were long, including 100 minutes for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — with more and more rides closing in Animal Kingdom while it works towards its new transformation with Pueblo Esperanza, the wait times are going to be rough. There are only so many rides for people to go to! Flight of Passage got up to 140 right in the morning, and DINOSAUR (which is closing in February, by the way) had a moment where it was up to 85 minutes. Yikes!

Hollywood Studios has a lot of big-hitter rides, and these wait times proved it. Slinky Dog Dash was over two hours most of the day, which is brutal. Even Star Tours was up to 35 minutes at one point! If you’re from Disneyland, you probably think that’s a low wait time, but here at Disney World, that’s pretty long.
