The One Issue That Can TOTALLY Mess Up Your Hollywood Studios Plans

It’s January in Disney World, and we’re finally past all the holidays and the first runDisney race weekend of the year.

Crowds have been hectic the past few weeks, thanks to school breaks and the start of the EPCOT Festival of the Arts. But what are things looking like in the parks now? We’re here to give you the full scoop!

OK, so we’re not trying to send you into a panic, but we are here to keep it real. Sometimes, the Disney World wait times can be deceiving. You may see a 20-minute posted wait time, only to realize that the ride is a walk-on! On the other hand, sometimes the wait times are actually HIGHER than you may have expected.

Those wait times can be sneaky!

For example, recently, the Tower of Terror attraction jumped from about a one-hour wait to a whopping 135-minute wait. If you were one of the unlucky guests who jumped in line BEFORE the time jumped to 135 minutes, you might have been stuck waiting longer than Disney originally promised.

Of course, in situations like this, you have two options. 1.) You can stick it out and keep waiting in line, even if the wait time increases. 2.) You can abandon the line, exit the queue, and check back later.

Pay attention to where you are!

Our advice? Take stock of where you are in line. If the wait time increases significantly, but you’re close to the load zone, it’s probably worth it to keep your spot in line. If you’ve got a long way to go, you might be better off trying again later. Now, here’s a peek at the Disney World wait times on January 20th, 2024.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train hit a 120-minute wait TWICE during the day. But part of the reason for those high wait times could be because multiple other rides closed down MANY times during the day.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure had the highest wait time in the park — 125 minutes! It did temporarily close soon after, but was back up before the end of the day.

Flight of Passage jumped WAY above what we were expecting and hit a 210-minute wait! However, it didn’t touch that record high time the rest of the day, which is very peculiar.
