Over the past few years, it seems like many amusement parks outside of Universal and Disney Parks are struggling to stay open, and we’ve seen many theme parks throughout the U.S. shutter their doors forever, including Six Flags parks.

In Georgia, several amusement parks have already closed their doors, but now another theme park in Fayetteville, Georgia, Fun Spot, has announced that it’s closing for good on August 2nd.

Fun Spot is located in Fayetteville, near Atlanta, and recently posted to social media that it would be closing its doors as of August 2nd. In a letter released in June, Fun Spot wrote that it was a difficult decision, but that the company will work with team members throughout the transition and is committed to continuing to support them until the closure.

The company also announced that the theme park would operate under normal hours until the closure, and that season passes and gift cards would still be honored until then and would still be honored at Fun Spot’s other locations in Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida. Fun Spot also wrote that it would still be operating those other two locations.

Although the company did not give a reason for the closure, Parade mentioned that industry insiders had indicated that the theme park was struggling with financial performance, as well as difficulty in marketing a year-round park in regional Georgia.

Fans of the park may wonder what’s going to happen to the park’s newest ride, the $13 million ArieForce One, which opened in 2023. The steel and wood hybrid coaster features a 154-foot lift hill, an 83-degree drop, speeds up to 64 mph, and four inversions. It became so popular that coaster enthusiasts were traveling from all over the country to ride it.
