That said, you don’t have to pay for Genie+ — it’s completely optional! How can you decide if it’s worth it? By monitoring the Disney World wait times! Let’s see what the wait times were like in Disney World when Genie+ reached $35.
On Friday, December 22nd, Genie+ reached a record-high price of $35 per person. The next day, the price soared to $39 per person, but we’re here to focus on the Friday crowds for now.
Obviously, $35 is a lot of money to pay to skip the lines in Disney World. Looking at the wait times, though, you must decide what’s more important: saving time or saving money.
Sometimes, the wait times might not be as bad as they seem! The Disney World wait times on December 22nd were pretty high, but we’ve actually seen rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure reach higher wait times than what we saw on Friday. That said, the parks are crowded this time of year, so some may prefer just to spend the money.
