CONFIRMED: A BIG Change Is Coming to Magic Kingdom This Week

It’s not too often that we get to say this, but something BIG is coming to Magic Kingdom that could potentially change your entire trip.

Ever since this project was announced, I’ve been counting down the days until I can burst through the doors with my pirate hat and sword and feast on hearty dishes and drinks, and that time is almost here.

The Beak and Barrel is opening on August 29th in the Magic Kingdom! This pirate-themed tavern, located in Adventureland, is situated right next to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and will soon be ready to serve guests eager to get their pirate on.

Should you add this brand-new restaurant to your Magic Kingdom itinerary? We sure will be! Since this is a new concept, reservations are hard to get right now, but they’re still popping up randomly. This is a permanent restaurant, so if you can’t get reservations this round, don’t worry! It should be here for a long time.

While same-day reservations may be available, we don’t expect this to be the case initially. When GEO-82, the adults-only lounge, opened in EPCOT, there was no waitlist or same-day reservations available. We’re expecting the same thing to happen for The Beak and Barrel.

If you manage to snag a reservation, please note that you’ll have approximately 45 minutes and a two-drink maximum during your visit. This setup is similar to Oga’s Cantina, another lounge and restaurant, located in Hollywood Studios. Years later, Oga’s has the same rules, but they are a bit more lenient on the time depending on the day.

The Beak and Barrel is a family-friendly establishment that offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There will also be a variety of food dishes to try! I’m personally looking forward to the Griddle Cakes.
