If you’re visiting Disney World this week, you probably noticed that it is busy.
The holidays are a super popular time to visit the parks, and wait times typically soar! Long wait times aren’t the only ride-related problems you might encounter on your visit, however. Unexpected ride closures happen all of the time, but some days they are a little more of a problem than usual.
On December 21st, 2023, 14 rides had technical difficulties throughout the day! Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids both closed at different parts of the day in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Spaceship Earth, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track all struggled with temporary closures in EPCOT.
In Magic Kingdom, six struggled to stay open. Pirates of the Caribbean was down for most of the day and given that the park closed early for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party that night, day visitors had very little time to enjoy the attraction.
Unfortunately, temporary ride closures are unavoidable sometimes. It’s a good idea to try to get your must-dos out of the way first thing in the morning, just in case they close down at some point and never get back up and running that day.
