If You Aren’t Picking These Disney World Lightning Lanes, What Are You Doing?

To Lightning Lane or not to Lightning Lane, that is the question. Lightning Lanes can help you skip the lines at your favorite Disney World attractions, potentially saving you HOURS in line.

Even if you decide to use Lightning Lanes, you’re then faced with the question of which Lightning Lane to choose. One way to choose is to examine average wait times to determine the highest wait times for each attraction. We’re going to take a look at what your first attraction choice should be in you’re using Lightning Lane Multi Pass in each park.

For most parks, the most popular attractions will be under Lightning Lane Single Pass, which allows you to select an individual attraction once. We’re talking about Multi Pass here, which is the most “general” Lightning Lane and allows you to choose from most attractions in the parks. When we’re discussing the first attraction to choose for the day, we might not be selecting the most popular one, because it’s not available with this pass.

Magic Kingdom

For Magic Kingdom, which has the most attractions of any park, a great option can be Peter Pan’s Flight. This is an iconic and nostalgic ride that, due to its limited ride capacity, can often have extremely long lines. Another great option is the Jungle Cruise or the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, depending on your family’s priorities.

Animal Kingdom has a significantly lower number of attractions to choose from, especially with Flight of Passage being under Lightning Lane Single Pass. Na’vi River Journey and Expedition Everest can be options, but don’t be afraid to skip purchasing Lightning Lanes in Animal Kingdom. If you plan to be there for the whole day, you’ll likely have time to ride everything and see the animals, too.

Hollywood Studios has a lot of hard hitters, and a choice I would go for every time is Slinky Dog Dash. This family-friendly coaster almost always has long waits and lacks options like a single-rider line. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, along with Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, can also be a great choice since Runaway Railway can get long lines in the morning, since it’s the first attraction you see when you walk in. Smugglers Run also offers a single rider option, which may work best for your family.
