Heads up, Star Wars fans! If you’ve been dreaming of building your own Lightsaber on your next vacation, there’s been a change that may make you MORE excited.

Over at Savi’s Workshop in Galaxy’s Edge, you can book an appointment to build your own lightsaber, but these book up fast, so you’ll want to make your reservation well in advance. And that’s especially true now, because for a limited time, a popular storyline is returning to this experience!
When you build your lightsaber, you can choose from one of the available hilt themes and receive a cloisonné pin to confirm your selection. The regular options available most times of the year are:
- Peace and Justice: Disney describes as “Salvaged scraps from fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships in these Republic-era designs honor the galaxy’s former guardians.”
- Power and Control: These were originally forged by dark side warriors, but “this style features rumored remnants from the Sith homeworld and abandoned temples.”
- Elemental Nature: The Force is embodied in this theme and has “an energy created by all living things, like Brylark trees, Cartusion whale bones and Rancor teeth.”
- Protection and Defense: Described by Disney as “Hilt materials bear mysterious motifs and inscriptions that reconnect users with the ancient wellspring of the Force.”

However, for a limited time starting October 12th, 2025, the Reclaimed and Reforged theme will be available, where you can create your lightsaber from “remnants of ancient battles and abandoned scrap” from the edges of the galaxy.

The first time we saw this hilt theme was earlier this year for May the 4th, so we’re thrilled to see it return, since it seemed to be such a great hit the first time around. If you get this option, you’ll get to choose the following to create your lightsaber:
- 1 hilt
- 4 sleeves (pick 2)
- 2 emitters (pick 1)
- 2 pommel caps (pick 1)
- 2 sets of activation plates and switches (pick 1 set)

The cost of this experience is $249.99 per lightsaber, plus tax, and payment is due in full at the time of booking. A carrying case is included in that cost, but any additional customization items are to be purchased at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. Now, if you’re looking to book this experience but weren’t able to get it in advance, a limited number of same-day reservations may be available up to 2 hours in advance, but we don’t recommend relying on that.
