EPCOT looks different. That’s because one of its biggest attractions is now closed!
Test Track just had its last day of operation in its current form and now Disney has begun making changes to the iconic ride. Walls are already up at the attraction and we spotted the new logo…but did anyone care about the ride on its closing day? After taking a look at the wait times, we found out!
The short answer is yes — people cared! The wait times were relatively high throughout the day, however, we kind of expected them to be even higher. It seems it was the most popular rope drop choice because the wait time at park open was 90 minutes. It stayed above an hour until 2PM when Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure wait times surpassed it.
For the duration that Test Track is closed, we expect those two rides to get even busier than usual. They are the two most popular attractions in the park, so keep that in mind when visiting and consider grabbing those Lightning Lanes first if buying Genie+, Disney’s skip-the-line service, in EPCOT.
When Splash Mountain closed in early 2023 to make room for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (which is opening later this month!), there were multi-hour wait times for the ride all throughout its last day. That’s sorta what we expected here, but there is a caveat to that.
It seems like there will still be remnants of the Test Track fans know and love (see concept art here), whereas with Splash Mountain it was completely gutted and rethemed. However, nothing has been confirmed by Disney for the EPCOT ride changes so we’ll just have to wait and see!

People stood in line because they were disappointed with CommuniCore Plaza. It would help Test Track if the outside track was indoors–this would allow the ride to continue in inclement weather.
Without a doubt one of the most overrated, over hyped rides at the parks in Florida. Waited over an hour, was in genie+ cool down, and was AMPED to ride it and was so let down. Retheme? No. Update/upgrade? Get outta here. Make it the Cars ride that’s in Disneyland Cali already! Have the life size Mater and Lightening outside greeting people and a picture opportunity. Don’t over think it Mickey. Please.
