Disney, This Hollywood Studios Ride Has Started Whispering It Needs Help

We know how it feels when you’re in the Disney World parks, you head to your favorite ride, and find that the wait time is WAY higher than you expected.

Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, that happens pretty frequently. Not only because this park has some of the most popular rides in the entire resort, but there are two rides in this park that have some pretty intense issues every now and then. One of them is Tower of Terror, which frequently has half the ride go down, doubling the wait time, but there’s another one you’ve got to watch out for. If you see this ride double in wait time too, PLEASE don’t get in line.

Let’s take a look at wait times from Sunday, August 9th.

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run hit an 85 minute wait at 3 PM, which isn’t unusual, but the closures from yesterday were what caused us to do a double take. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh closed three times throughout the day, while Space Mountain closed twice. Not bad, that’s for sure, but considering these both have had pretty intense issues recently, we’re a bit concerned.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind hit a 125 minute wait right at the very end of the day, which was a pretty intense jump compared to the rest of the day. While both Frozen Ever After and Test Track closed for two hours each, that isn’t too bad for a park that’s been very popular for the past few months during summer. We’ll take it!

The ride also dropped to a 35 minute wait two hours ahead of closure, which is one of the lowest times we’ve seen recently. Could crowds finally be starting to calm down after the summer? We’ll have to wait and see.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

It looks like Toy Story Mania may be having some issues again, as it had the highest wait time of 95 minutes. While this ride certainly can get busy, it’s rare that it’s the highest of the entire park, unless there are weather issues. That’s not the case here, as all rides remained open all day (with the exception of a one hour closure for Slinky Dog Dash), but we have seen this ride have issues that close down about half the ride, doubling the wait time. The hour before the jump, Toy Story Mania was just about half an hour, and the hour after, it was back down to 20 minutes. What does that mean? If you see this ride jump intensely, we recommend holding off.
