Everything Available During After Hours Events at Magic Kingdom in Disney World

Ever dream of having a Disney World visit with NO crowds? You’re not alone!

Crowds in Disney World

Luckily, Disney After Hours events returned to Magic Kingdom in January 2023! These special ticketed events allow you to enjoy the parks after the regular guests have gone for the day, but attending one of these will cost you. Follow along to see what’s included, so you can decide if it’s the right move for your family.

Tickets Details

These tickets allow you into the park on select nights from January 9th through March 27th, 2023. The prices vary by date, and as you can see, some dates are already sold out online — so act fast!

Ticket prices vary, and based on the available dates they currently range from $145 to $159. Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members get a discount though, so keep that in mind.

After Hours

While the event officially takes place from 10PM to 1AM, you’re allowed to enter the park as early as 7PM to get a head start.

Attractions

Smaller crowds are one of the biggest perks of these events, and with that comes shorter wait times! With these tickets, you can enjoy over 20 attractions, including:

Just remember, this list is subject to change.

Snacks

Did someone say free popcorn? Select bottled beverages, ice cream novelties, and popcorn are INCLUDED in the cost of this event. There will be carts around the park offering these selections and you can have as many as you’d like!

Some Snacks Are Included!

During our trip, we grabbed a Mickey Premium Bar, Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich, popcorn, a 50th Anniversary bottle of Coke, and a Dasani water bottle. All are included in your ticket.

We also spotted a fruit bar available!

You’ll also be able to purchase snacks at Main Street Bakery and select other locations around the park.

After Hours is back

Entertainment

One advantage to getting to the park before it closes to other guests is that you can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks show (currently Disney Enchantment), which will be taking place during regular park hours.

Just keep in mind that Disney Enchantment will end in April and be replaced by Happily Ever After, but this will all happen past the end date for Magic Kingdom After Hours this year.

Merchandise

In terms of merchandise, there are some stores that remain open during the After Hours event. Here’s the full list:

  • Box Office Gifts
  • Curtain Call Collectibles
  • Emporium
  • Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar
  • Hundred Acre Goods
  • Sir Mickey’s
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Photos

But wait, there’s more to see and do at this event!

Characters

During Magic Kingdom’s After Hours event, you’ll also get to meet some characters! A few character spots remain open throughout the event including:

Low Crowds

The true draw with Disney’s After Hours event though is generally the low wait times. During the first night of After Hours at Magic Kingdom in 2023 the event was SOLD OUT. So how bad are crowds on that type of night?

Well, remember that those with After Hours tickets can access Magic Kingdom as early as 7PM with their event ticket. The mix of regular park guests, After Hours guests, and fireworks made it pretty busy around this time.

Fireworks crowds

Once the fireworks ended and the regular theme park crowds left the park, however, things looked pretty empty. There were some long lines at certain snack spots to grab those complimentary snacks, but other spots were pretty empty.

Longest line we’ve seen so far

At Space Mountain, we found that the ride just had a 5-minute wait, and Tomorrowland Speedway was a walk-on! At around 10:45PM ET, the longest wait times we saw was 25 minutes for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
