The Best $10 You’ll Spend at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort is one of the most interesting on-property. Themed to a northeastern seaside boardwalk from the early years of the twentieth century, the resort features a functioning boardwalk that’s open to all Walt Disney World guests.

The BoardWalk

The BoardWalk’s boardwalk (say that three times fast) features dining, entertainment, and — our focus today — thematically appropriate snacks. While there’s a lot to do at the BoardWalk, our recommendation today is a simple $10 way to enjoy a gorgeous sunset in the sweetest way possible.

First, make your way over to BoardWalk Ice Cream around dusk and order a $9.29 Thundering Surf Peanut Butter and Chocolate Sundae.

BoardWalk Ice Cream

This delicious concoction features chocolate and vanilla ice cream, peanut butter and chocolate morsels, topped with whipped cream, and a cherry.

Sidenote: While we’re personally big fans of the peanut butter options, those who are allergic or who simply don’t enjoy peanut butter aren’t out of luck.

Once you have your ice cream treat of choice, make your way to a bench just in time to enjoy a gorgeous sunset with views of the boardwalk, Crescent Lake, and even EPCOT in the distance.

Between indulging your sweet tooth and taking in the gorgeous views, you’ll truly feel like you’ve been transported to a real northeastern seaside resort like those in Coney Island or the Jersey Shore a century ago.

The BoardWalk

Of course, with the Boardwalk being a Deluxe Tier Disney Resort, the hotel offers far more perks than decadent ice cream sundaes and sunset views. Benefits available for guests include:

  • The ability to book Lightning Lanes 7 days in advance
  • Early Entry to Disney’s theme parks.
  • Extended Evening Hours at select Disney theme parks.
  • Complimentary transportation.
  • On-site and online Disney tickets.
  • Advance tee times at Disney golf courses.
