Not all Disney World rides are created equally. In fact, not all Disney World ride vehicles are created equally, either.

It probably comes as no surprise that we consider ourselves to be Disney World ride experts, having been on every single ride at the parks over and over again. But, if you’re heading to the parks for the very first time — make sure you watch out for these uncomfortable ride vehicles!
Let’s be real — we all know how uncomfortable the Space Mountain ride vehicles are at Magic Kingdom in Disney World. And if you don’t know, now you know — just trust us. Getting in and out of those tiny little ride vehicles is a test of endurance and is not for the faint of heart (or the tall).

But, Space Mountain isn’t the only Disney World ride vehicle we’ve got qualms with, so we’re ranking them from “Kinda Comfortable” to, well, Space Mountain.
DINOSAUR
Over in Dinoland, U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom, DINOSAUR is a ride not to be trifled with for a number of reasons — but the ride vehicles might be the biggest. This “all-terrain” truck lives up to its name, jostling you around and into the people beside you — strangers or not.

Peter Pan’s Flight
The actual ride vehicles on this classic Magic Kingdom attraction aren’t too bad overall, but getting into them might leave you bruised. Mind your head when you step into the flying boat so you don’t bonk it on the sail!

Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Again, there’s nothing inherently uncomfortable about the ride vehicles on Smugglers Run at Hollywood Studios, but this ride requires coordination and cooperation among those in your party, which can leave you in the dust.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Featuring Aerosmith
Tall people, beware! This ride vehicle is a little bit cramped, and tall people may want to consider requesting the front row so you can really stretch those legs. It is a stretch limousine, after all.

Jungle Cruise
Nothing is more uncomfortable than a boat full of people who don’t want to laugh at the Skipper’s cheesy jokes. Not only that, but the orientation of the bench seats on each boat can be a bit awkward.

Jungle Cruise
Frozen Ever After
Not only is it a bit uncomfortable to climb down into the Frozen Ever After boats in EPCOT, but chances are they will be wet when you do. This is also your warning that you may get wet on this ride!

Frozen Ever After
Kilimanjaro Safaris
If you’ve ever wanted to be packed into an open-air safari truck with sweaty strangers in the Florida heat, boy do we have the ride for you! Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom is an iconic ride that is a must-do, but just keep in mind you might be getting to know your neighbors pretty well!

Kilimanjaro Safaris
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Legend has it that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad can knock kidney stones loose, and we’d believe it. The ride vehicles aren’t too bad, but you do get jostled and whipped around. They don’t call it the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness for nothin’.

Tower of Terror
When you suddenly drop to your demise on the Tower of Terror, you’re probably going to want to grab the handles on either side of your seat — but so will the person next to you! This can get a little bit uncomfortable if you’re seated next to someone you don’t know. Or, it could be the beginning of a rom-com (sure, Iger, you can use this idea — just cut us a check!)

Mission SPACE
This is a simulated space shuttle. We don’t really need to expound on that.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Even though Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is one of the most popular rides in Magic Kingdom, the ride vehicles certainly aren’t popular. The lap bars tend to be a tight squeeze, so keep that in mind before you ride.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
AVATAR: Flight of Passage
Flight of Passage is one of two Disney World rides that requires you to straddle the ride vehicle, which is inherently uncomfortable. That, combined with the fact that this vehicle “breathes” like a Banshee from Avatar makes for an awkward ride.

Astro Orbiter
Want to get into a tiny metal elevator only to get into a smaller metal tube that shoots around Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom? Astro Orbiter is for you. It’s certainly not for us, but hey, we don’t judge.

Astro Orbiter
TRON Lightcycle / Run
The TRON ride vehicles are designed like “lightcycles” (fancy futuristic motorcycles) which require you to straddle the cycle and keep your back legs in place via bars that come down in the back. For many people, the ride is uncomfortable and hits them in all the wrong places. Luckily there is a modified ride vehicle for those who may be uncomfortable with the standard one!

TRON Lightcyle Run
Space Mountain, duh
Of course, we didn’t really need to even reiterate this one, but who are we kidding? That’s how uncomfortable the Space Mountain cars are at Disney World. They’re low to the ground and hard to squeeze into, plus there really isn’t a whole lot of leg room to work with here!
