New Disney World Vacation Package for Reservations Impacted by Closure

Update 5/9/20: This offer has been discontinued as of May 9th, 2020. You can find out more info here.

In light of Disney World’s recent closure extension, we had started to accept that it may be a bit before we make it back into the parks.

But Disney just gave us an extra dose of hope with a brand new vacation package offer exclusively for guests whose arrival dates fell during the park closures!

Affected guests have special access to a vacation package offer that includes a free dining plan if they purchase accommodations at a select Disney Resort hotel and park admission. Eligible guests can book for arrival dates on most days from June 1st through September 30th, 2020, if they book through May 31st, 2020.

  1. This is not a truly sincere offer. They would be better off making no offer than this one. Considering there is not even a timeline for opening, the dates make no sense. Considering that even when open there will be capacity restrictions for a while, this is a very narrow window to take advantage of any offer. Was scheduled March 16-21. Frequent flyer traveling 3-4 trips a year, really don’t anticipate returning before 18 months minimum.

  2. Park closed 1 week before our trip. Can’t come back until November as our schedules will not allow before then. Hoping they extend this offer at least for 6 months to 1 year for those impacted by the closing dates. That would be one way for Disney to recoup and families get to take their “dream” vacations.

  3. Had a vacation planned for early May. Rescheduled it for first week of sept. Did that 3 days ago( before deal was announced). Do I still qualify?:)

  4. We have our trip scheduled for May 7-16. It is starting to look as if WDW will be closed, even then.
I would like to take advantage of this offer. It is just looking at the logistics, as to when. We would like to be able to book our FP, at the 60 day window. Providing, there are no additional updates to the current system.

I believe WDW will open in stages. It would make the most sense. Being that the College Program makes up about 30%-40% of their work force. I also believe WDW will keep some sort of Social Distancing in place. As to how they handle that, we will see. I think some sort of “Virtual Queue” may be implemented. And perhaps, number of guest allowed in to each park. I guess we all can speculate as to what WDW will or will not do. It is safe to say, “That changes will happen”.

Like most, I know our family is looking forward to some vacation time, at our favorite “Laughing Place” once we can travel.

Stay well, everyone. This too, shall pass.
