The Disney Cruise Line is shutting down for the remainder of March effective tomorrow, with all scheduled departures being cancelled until further notice. If you were scheduled to depart on any Disney Cruise from March 14th onward, you’ll have to change your plans.
Disney has announced an updated refund and rescheduling policy in response to the closure. Read on to find out more, as well as to determine if your vacation will be affected.
What Cruises Are Affected?
If you were set to depart today, March 13th, or are currently on a Disney Cruise, your vacation will be unaffected. All current sailings will continue until their intended return date, though guests who have been to an area affected heavily by COVID-19 within the last 14 days will not be allowed on board. This includes China, Italy, South Korea, and many other countries. Check the official Disney Cruise Line website for more details on what countries are affected.

If you were set to sail on or after March 14th, your cruise is cancelled. You will receive an email from the Disney Cruise Line in the coming days confirming this. You’ll be given a choice between a cruise credit with the entire cost of your cruise (redeemable at any time within the next 15 months), or a full refund.

Cruises scheduled to sail on April 1st or later are scheduled to continue as normal at this time. However, if you’re currently scheduled for a European Cruise with the Disney Magic running through July 25th, a general Disney Magic cruise through May 8th, or a cruise on the Disney Dream, Fantasy, or Wonder through May 31st, you may reschedule your reservation until the day of embarkment, receiving a cruise credit valid for the next year.
