We Can Tell It’s HOT in Disney World From Looking at This ONE Ride

There are lots of ways to tell if it’s going to be an ultra-hot day in Disney World.

The easiest? Step outside. However, if you yourself aren’t in the parks, that’s not possible, so then we recommend taking a look at a weather app, which will show you what the temperature is, even if you’re not there.​ However, those aren’t our preferred ways of finding out, actually — instead, we just look at the wait time for this ONE Disney’s Animal Kingdom ride.

Let’s take a look at wait times from Friday, June 19th!

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run hit the highest wait time of 70 minutes three different times throughout the day, which isn’t surprising seeing how much other rides had issues. Fortunately, most of the closures were due to storms in the area, but other attractions, like The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh and TRON itself, did have one-off issues throughout the day as well. It could have been worse, that’s for sure, but it also wasn’t the best day for the park.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind just barely edged above Test Track with a 90 minute wait, but we were thrilled to see this park wasn’t affected by bad weather. Now, Journey into Imagination did close for two hours in a row for seemingly no reason, and as it’s not the first time (or even the tenth time) it’s happened, we are starting to keep a closer eye on this attraction.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

It was a scorcher in Disney World yesterday, and we know this by just looking at Animal Kingdom wait times. Avatar Flight of Passage and Kali River Rapids TIED at a 70 minute wait, which is far too long to ever wait for Kali (but a totally normal amount of time to wait for Flight of Passage). Trust us — it’s better to get some AC inside and wait for Kali’s wait time to go down. We’ve very rarely waited in a line longer than 35 minutes for that ride and felt it was worth it.

Rise of the Resistance and Tower of Terror tied at 90 minute waits, which makes sense, as they’re both mostly indoor queue attractions (or, at least have pretty decent shade and fans throughout the outdoor queue). You know what ride doesn’t? Slinky Dog Dash, and we’ve got a feeling that’s a LARGE part of why the ride wasn’t one of the highest wait times of the day.
