We’re starting to see more and more businesses resume operations worldwide, including Disney World, who is preparing to reopen their theme parks on July 11th and 15th.

Shortly after the parks reopen, Virgin Atlantic is set to resume flights from the UK into Orlando International Airport, in addition to other destinations.
The airline tweeted that they will be flying from Heathrow Airport in London to Orlando, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Shanghai starting on July 20th.

When the airline resumes flights, new health and safety guidelines will be in place. These include many of the health protocols we’ve seen at businesses nationwide. Physical distancing will be encouraged with the use of queue markers as well as limiting the amount of passengers allowed in queue areas. Passengers will board the plane in smaller amounts too, and more seats will remain empty on board.

Sanitation will increase, which will involve regular wiping of surfaces and the addition of hand washing and sanitization stations. Face masks will be required for employees who are in “close contact” with passengers, and Virgin encourages their passengers to use face masks whenever possible in the airport. Once on board the plane, face masks will be required at all times. You can read more about their new procedures here.

Virgin has been in the Disney news sphere recently too with the anticipated transportation options for travelers. This includes a high speed railway from South Florida to Orlando, as well as the long-discussed railway from Orlando International Airport to Disney World.

It is very important to point out that at this time, all international travel is discouraged. There are several restrictions in place for travel between the United States and the United Kingdom. The CDC recommends avoiding all non-essential travel between these two countries.
