As we anxiously await the reopening of Disney World in Florida, we can’t help but wonder when its West Coast counterpart will reopen, too!

Our attention is turning now to the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland! We noticed a quiet update Disney made to its website that could hint at a possible reopening date!

Disneyland has begun to sell single day tickets starting on July 16th, 2020. This is perhaps the biggest development we’ve seen coming out of the Disneyland Resort. Does this mean the parks will reopen on that date?

There are a few things to keep in mind. Currently, Disneyland is accepting reservations for travel dates July 15th, 2020 and later.

Also, in the state of California, theme parks may reopen in Phase Three. Currently, the state is in Phase Two of reopening, although Phase Three may come as early as this month.

Once California enters Phase Three, we may not hear an announcement right away. Despite the state of California allowing restaurants and retail locations to reopen for several weeks now, Downtown Disney has not made any announcements regarding a reopening date.

When the state of Florida announced that their shops and restaurants could reopen, we heard the following day that Disney Springs will reopen. Clearly there is no ‘pattern’ to Disney’s behavior when it comes to reopening, but we will continue to bring you the latest updates!

California Governor Gavin Newsom has made it clear over the past several weeks that the decisions on when businesses can reopen will fall heavily on local county officials and less on the state government. But as film production is set to resume this month in Los Angeles, we could potentially see other large enterprises, like theme parks, resume operations too.

Still, July 16th could be a fitting date, as Disneyland will celebrate its 65th Anniversary on July 17th, 2020, so reopening the day before would make for one joyous reopening weekend!
