Whether it’s you’re first time in Walt Disney World or your 100th, there’s something about visiting the parks that keeps people coming back.

Magic Kingdom

Some people might call us Disney folk crazy, but there’s just something about that feeling you get when you walk down Main Street U.S.A. and get a sweet whiff of the treats from Main Street Bakery. Or, when you’re transported into a classic Disney story. So, what is it that keeps people coming back? We have a few ideas!

6 Reasons People Keep Going Back to Disney World

It’s Constantly Changing

At Disney World, there is always something new and excited to see whether it’s a new ride, restaurant, or show. And, that’s part of the draw! You can always find something brand new to look forward to because you definitely need to see it all!

“Please Pardon Our Pixie Dust”

And, this constant change is how the parks were meant to be! When Walt Disney opened Disneyland, he said “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. It is something that will never be finished.”

France Pavilion Expansion

Just this year, Disney is making progress on rides like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. They’re opening new restaurants like La Crêperie de Paris. And, they’ll be decking out the parks like never before for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebrations!

Hey Minnie!

Even without a 20-minute parade down Main Street U.S.A., Disney has modified its shows and character meet and greets, to make you feel like you’re in a completely different world. Plus, there’s nothing like seeing Mickey Mouse and other Disney favorites on a casual Tuesday afternoon so it’s easy to want to go back and say hi!

  1. For 7 days I get to forget about my life & everyday stresses. I can only afford to go every few years because the cost keeps going up making it harder & harder to save. Now transportation from the airport is gone so I will drive the 1600 miles to save on airline tickets, but then pay to park my car in a hotel that I paying to stay at on property. It doesn’t make much sense. It seems that Disney is adding to my stress for the thousands of dollars I spend to go there for just two adults & stay on property you would think they would cut us a break.
I love it but I’m not sure I can afford it much longer

  2. If you had said to me 25 years ago I would enjoy WDW, I’d laugh at you. I return at least every 2 years for the beauty, safety, cleanliness, and to escape from day to day life. I would come down even to just walk through the parks and grounds of the resorts and never ride anything (well that part might not be true). And for most of the last 20 years I have come to appreciate, no anticipate and expect, the Disney way of making sure everyone who takes the time, effort, and expense of going to WDW is rewarded and when Disney misses the mark, that failure is corrected. I am afraid , however, that Disney has decided the Magic and the Disney way all are the first things to go when profit margins are trimmed. When they should be the last. And when the pull of WDW is no longer there, I anticipate I will go other places and reduce my pilgrimage to every 3 or 4 years instead. I hope Disney prives me wrong.

  3. I was a little girl back in the 1950’s. Never missed an episode of Mickey Mouse Club. I could only dream of ever traveling to California and actually go to Disneyland. All this time later, I still never managed to go clear across the country. Thank heaven for Disney WORLD! Sure, our family has vacationed there at least fifty times in the last 25 years. Yes many friends think we are crazy. They just don’t have creativity. Imagination. Spontaneous behavior. Immaturity. The ability to grow older but never grow up. The sheer joy in hugging a four foot mouse. They just don’t get it. Send these people to Vegas. Perhaps a National Park. I can go everywhere without a passport. It’s a place you can actually visit thats immaculately clean. It has Castles. You can sit in a Teacup. You can have a conversation with a Stormtrooper. Dance with Buzz Lightyear and Woody. You can fly on the back of a Banshee. Take a jungle cruise or a Safari. Birds sing and flowers croon. You can practice your French with a server in Les Halles. You can stare at a ginormous geodesic dome, or take a ride inside it. After a long tiresome day on earth, I can transform myself into a child full of excitement and wonder by just reminiscing my Disney memories. THere are 6,000 reasons to go. I promise

  4. I would never go back, they are nickeling and diming the people over and over. I have been going there since 1972 and my last visit was 7 years ago. Can’t afford it. All the stuff that was free, is no longer. you pay to park, pay for your wristband, they want to make more money to put in their pockets. So bye bye

  5. I have been coming to WDW since 1975, when I was 4. Yes, Magic Kingdom and I are the same age. Always something new to see. Sometimes, there isn’t anything new, but a new memory is made. On our last trip Pandora and Galaxy’s Edge was new for us. Enjoyed spending time with the family, and for the first time my feet didn’t hurt. Always a miracle. We are big fans. My husband complains sometimes but he doesn’t want to be left behind at home. I don’t want to go back until Guardians and TRON are open. Too expensive to go yearly. Wish I lived there, then my Disney obsession would be cheaper.

    1. Each time, there is less and less magic and more money grab by Disney. The parking expense at the parks, charging for parking when you stay at their hotels, doing away with airport transportation, the price increases to the tickets, charging for magic bands, etc. The park reservation takes away from ANY spontaneity and increases the overall stress. Glue yourself to the app and your phone and have a magical day.
