Disney films are filled with adorable animal sidekicks that often steal the show!
If you wish you could meet them in real life, we have some good news for you!
Moana is lucky enough to have two animal friends in her movie: Hei Hei the rooster, and Pua the pig. But did you know that Pua was based off of a real pig in Disney World?
Animal Kingdom is home to Charlotte, a Kunekune pig. Kunekunes are small, domesticated pigs and generally have a docile, friendly nature, making them excellent pets! During an animation class at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, we learned that Disney animators working on Moana visited Charlotte when she was a little piglet to study her for the film!
Charlotte has grown a bit since then, but her younger self lives on as Pua! You can actually meet Charlotte and other animals in Animal Kingdom. Once you visit her at the Affection Section in Rafiki’s Planet Watch, you can tell your friends and family you met a real Disney celebrity!
