Here’s Where You Should Start Your Day in Disney World!

Planning is a huge part of any Disney World trip.

We’re always sharing tons of tips for packing, dining, and the best way to go about your day when visiting Disney World. Today, we’re sharing the best attractions in each Disney World park to start off your day!

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom may be home to classic attractions like Peter Pan’s Flight and “it’s a small world,” but it also holds some of the most popular roller coasters in all of Disney World! When you visit Magic Kingdom, you may want to start at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for something your whole family will love. This is a great coaster for little ones because it has fun theming, but scores low on the thrill scale.

Or, hop over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or Space Mountain for a high-speed adventure! Frequently, these attractions have had some of the longest wait times, so it may benefit your schedule to ride them ASAP instead of waiting until later in the day.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Slinky Dog Dash often sees some of the highest wait times in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests line up each day to take a whimsical ride through Andy’s backyard, and that line can get pretty long! Head to Toy Story Land first thing, in order to minimize your wait time!

Now, there’s another ride that should be on your mind at the beginning of the day too. The most popular attraction in Hollywood Studios, Rise of the Resistance, operates using a Virtual Queue. Although you may not be able to start your day on the ride itself, you should definitely start your day trying to get a spot in the queue if you’re interested in riding!

Guests can attempt to join the first round of Boarding Groups at 7 AM using the My Disney Experience App from outside the park, whether you’re grabbing breakfast or chilling in your hotel room. It’s important to note that Boarding Groups fill up VERY quickly, so you’ll want to be ready right on time.

You’ll have another chance at snagging a group at 1 PM from inside the park. But, if this is a must-do for you, start your day bright and early trying to get a Boarding Group!

EPCOT

We know you might be SUPER excited to make your way around the World Showcase when you start your day in EPCOT, but you’re going to want to make a pit stop in Future World first! Test Track is a blast for kids and adults of all ages, so it’s no wonder why it often boasts the longest wait time in the park!

Before the queue picks up for the day, you’ll want to stop by Test Track as the first ride to kick off your morning. And, it’s definitely a way to get that adrenaline going and your blood pumping before you explore the rest of EPCOT!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

You might not be surprised that we think Pandora — The World of Avatar should be your first stop in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But, you will be surprised that we aren’t recommending Flight of Passage as the start to your day! Recently, Na’vi River Journey has a slightly longer average wait time than its sister attraction.

In order to avoid longer wait times, you might want to take a relaxing ride down the river first. Then, you can easily make your way over to Flight of Passage and maybe snack on a Cheeseburger Pod afterward!
