Fans Are Calling Out 3 Glaring Problems That Need to Be Fixed ASAP in Disneyland

What would YOU implement to improve Disneyland?

Disneyland

That’s a question we asked our readers, and ya’ll had plenty of thoughts. From pricing to Magic Key annual passholder perks, there were some standout answers.

We turned to Facebook to ask our readers, “What Disneyland problems need to be fixed ASAP?!”, and ya’ll had some thoughts…

A complaint that came up more than once was the cost. One day at Disneyland costs AT LEAST hundreds upon hundreds of dollars — and that’s WITHOUT lodging factored in.

Reader Myatt wrote, “I’m actually ok with current gate prices, but food and merchandise prices should be lowered.”

Reader Josh wrote, “If they’re not going to make the annual passes or magic keys, whatever reasonably priced[,] at least have one with no blackout dates.”

Admission prices were critiqued, as were Magic Key prices and Disneyland prices in general. With prices going up constantly, it makes sense that passholders get irritated with the blockout dates — which limit how far your dollar can actually go.

Reader Shar wrote, “Remove reservations, quit nickel & diming for everything.”

Five & Dime

Speaking of reservations, unlike Disney World, Disneyland still requires park reservations for all of its guests, something that was implemented when the Disney Parks opened back up during the COVID-19 pandemic. Disneyland still utilizes a reservation system, and that has created some backlash.

It’s not enough to have a park ticket — you must also have a same-day park reservation if you hope to enter. While the reservation has been used by Disney to manage crowds, it has deterred Magic Key Passholders.

Reader Josh added, “Do more for magic key holders, previous years had special events for passholders only, special movie viewings with something simple as a bag of popcorn and a soda and a movie viewing.”

Magic Key passholders do get special perks like discounts, souvenir opportunities, and other little bonuses — but some of our readers feel Disneyland could be doing more for its most loyal customers.

Our readers aren’t the only ones critical of Disney’s perks, or lack thereof. There has been growing concern that the Disney Resorts have dialed back on their perks over the past few years, and folks are starting to take notice.

All in all, we — and many of our readers — LOVE the Disneyland Resort, there’s always room for improvement.

  1. I would have Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride get more animatronics like a bluebird, Naveen arguing with Louis a showboat as depicted in the little golden book, I would add a spoonbill birds right next to Mama Odie, colorful lady butterflies, Lawrence, Dr facilier, Buford Tiana’s boss, 2 fenner bros, Travis, Reggie Darnell two fingers, masks dolls spirits creepy trees, Oswald the lucky rabbit picture. Friends on the other side and when we’re human songs added in the ride. Also put in a memorial plaque for the 1927 Mississippi river flood victims and educate guests on the 1927 flood history. Also turn the autopia cars into character themed cars like Mickey mouse, Donald duck cars etc. also add songs from the jungle book, the Lion King, Tarzan on jungle Cruise ride. Also turn Tom Sawyer Island into a Muppet treasure island place. Add additional inside out 2 characters. Turn Matterhorn into a monsters Inc snow ride since monsters inc is going away.
