NEWS: Disney Cruise Line Reduces Required Deposit and Fees

We love the Disney Cruise Line!

There are so many changes with the cruise line, like the addition of several new ships, including the Disney Adventure and the Disney Destiny. If you’ve been looking to set sail, there’s been a big change to how you’ll pay for your next trip that you need to know about!

If you’ve ever set sail with the Disney Cruise Line, you might know that you had to pay a 20% deposit when booking your cruise. Well, in an effort to help lower up-front costs, Disney has changed that number.

Now to confirm your reservation, you can put down as little as 10% of your total cost! Not only that, Disney will hold your booking for up to 3 days before a deposit is required. This can be a great way to give yourself some extra time to think before paying the full amount for your cruise.

After your deposit is paid, you can choose your own payment plan before your final balance is due (although that isn’t a new feature). This is most likely an effort to help boost advanced booking numbers, but if it makes booking easier for us, we’ll take it!

The newest Disney Cruise Ship, the Disney Destiny, will set sail on November 20th, 2025! We can’t wait to see what the new ship has in store, especially after getting a preview of it in April. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news and updates.
