July is a HUGE month for theme park fans. We’ve got SO MUCH good news to tell you about this summer. In fact, there are some MAJOR attractions coming soon to Disney World, so let’s talk about all the changes coming to Disney World this July!

Somehow, July is right around the corner, and that means a bunch of new Disney World CHANGES are on the horizon. If you’re planning a trip to Disney World this July, here are all the biggest changes and events happening throughout the month!
Disney Starlight Parade
FINALLY! A new nighttime parade is coming to the Magic Kingdom. We’ve been waiting for YEARS for some new nighttime entertainment, and this show will be “brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy” from Pinocchio. The parade will also feature characters from popular Disney animated films like Peter Pan, Encanto, and Frozen.

The first showtime will be on July 20th. Parade times can change, so make sure to check the My Disney Experience app to stay up to date with all the latest showtimes.

Test Track Reopening
Test Track has been closed for a LONG time — this attraction closed way back on June 17th, 2024 to prepare for a total overhaul. Well, FINALLY, Disney revealed the opening date for the ride: July 22nd. That’s right, you’ll soon be able to check out exactly how Test Track has changed.

The new ride will push innovation forward and celebrate “today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future.” The new queue will feature six exhibits to celebrate vehicles and the people behind the vehicles. We cannot WAIT to see the new iteration of the ride!

Fourth of July
July 4th is Independence Day! To celebrate the holiday, Magic Kingdom will host Disney’s Celebrate America! — A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky. This nighttime spectacular only happens on two nights — that’s two nights only! You can catch this special fireworks show on July 3rd and July 4th at 9:20 PM.

Be prepared — there are typically some BIG crowds in Magic Kingdom for the fireworks, so we recommend grabbing a spot around 45 minutes to an hour before the show begins.

Frontierland Closures
It’s the end of an era! On July 7th, The Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat will permanently close to make way for Piston Peak National Park (a new Cars-themed land).

Additionally, the Frontierland Station for the Walt Disney World Railroad will close as construction begins in the land. Luckily, the train will still be in operation during the construction, and the Fantasyland and Main Street, U.S.A. Stations will remain operational.

Curse Disney for closing Rivers and TSI … So awful. Didn’t even give a full summer/fall to let people say goodbye either. Universal gets my dollars,
I can’t wait to see the parade. so exciting.
however, bringing back the transportation from airport to disney hotels would be even better!
