It is finally happening; Magic Kingdom will soon have a nighttime parade!

In August 2024, D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event took place, and during the Disney Experience Showcases, so many announcements were made for Disney World. During the panel, it was revealed that Disney World would get eight new attractions as well as two themed lounges. But that is not all that was announced, after fans begged for years, it was confirmed that Magic Kingdom would be home to a new nighttime parade. While Disney gave a small timeline, we now have the official opening date of this new parade.
It has been a long time since Magic Kingdom has had their own nighttime parade. The park used to be home to SpectroMagic and the Main Street Electrical Parade, and now it will welcome its newest parade Disney Starlight.

According to Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro, “Disney Starlight will add to that legacy” of these beloved nighttime parades. The parade will be “brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy” from, Pinocchio. The parade will also feature characters from popular Disney animated films like Peter Pan, Encanto, and Frozen.

Originally we were told that the parade would debut in summer of 2025, and now we finally have an opening date for this new parade! The first showtime will be on July 20th. Parade times can change, so make sure to continue to check the My Disney Experience app to stay up to date with all the latest showtimes.

…and Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy showed off their new parade outfits!

And we now know that Disney Starlight will have its own theme song! Disney said the music will include some familiar melodies we might have already heard around the parks, and the performers will incorporate a mix of dance styles.
Disney just released a NEW look at the finale float for the parade, too!

Here’s the list of characters that Disney has confirmed will be part of the parade:
- The Blue Fairy
- Peter Pan & Wendy
- Asha
- La Familia Madrigal (Mirabel, Isabela, Bruno)
- Elsa
- Aurora and Prince Phillip, Tiana and Prince Naveen, Belle and the Beast, and Cinderella and Prince Charming
- Miguel and Pepita
- Moana
- Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck,Snow White and Dopey, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, Aladdin and Jasmine, and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse

New merchandise will be available to celebrate the new parade — including light-up ears and a wand that interacts with the parade music.

And there will be a new treat to celebrate the parade, as well! Main Street Confectionery will have the Starlight Popcorn mix with candied popcorn, mini marshmallows, M&Ms, sprinkles, and white chocolate drizzle.

We are so excited that Disney Starlight will be joining the Magic Kingdom parade lineup along with the Festival of Fantasy parade.
