8 Disney World Closures You Need to Plan For Next Week

We love to talk about all the new attractions, shows, and events happening in Disney World, but what about those attractions that aren’t running? They deserve some attention, too! It’s a new week, and that means it’s time for a new weekly refurbishment update.

Fantasyland has so many fun details

Planning a trip to Disney World during the first week of March? You’ve come to the right place! Let’s take a look at everything that will be unavailable in Disney World from February 28th to March 6th, 2022.

Magic Kingdom Refurbishments

Walt Disney World Railroad

It’s been a long time since the Walt Disney World Railroad in the Magic Kingdom has traveled around the park, and the closure is expected to continue this week! Disney is working on a big project (A.K.A. the new TRON roller coaster) but that construction is preventing the train from running. (The train goes right through the construction zone!)

It’s been a while since we’ve seen the train in action!

Until Disney shares some news about the opening date of TRON: Lightcycle Run, the train will have to stay at the station. Fingers crossed that we hear some good news soon!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Refurbishments

Expedition Everest

Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest — Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is closed for an extended refurbishment. On January 4th, the attraction closed for a  3-month refurbishment. Now that it’s March, we’re one month closer to the reopening date!

Expedition Everest is still closed!

Disney stated that this attraction will remain closed through mid-April 2022. Back in February, we spotted some attraction vehicle testing, so hopefully, the construction is on the right track for a swift reopening.

Souk-Al-Magreb is closed for now!

We’ll keep our eyes out for a reopening date, though, so stay tuned for an update!
