VIDEO: Expedition Everest Currently Ride Testing During Extended Closure in Disney World

Many people say that Expedition Everest is one of the scariest (and most fun!) attractions in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Personally, we have some vivid memories of being pretty scared of the Dinosaur attraction when we were little, but everyone is different! For now, though, you’ll have to wait if you want to ride Expedition Everest

Are you brave enough to face the yeti?

This popular Disney World rollercoaster is temporarily closed for refurbishment, but we recently caught a glimpse of some action over in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

According to Disney, Expedition Everest — Legend of the Forbidden Mountain will remain closed for refurbishment from January 4th through mid-April 2022. By the sound of it, we’re only halfway through the closure!

It’s down for now!

While the attraction is closed, the gift shop is still open, and sometimes you can even find some small games outside the entrance to Expedition Everest!

Is this a must-ride attraction for you?

During our visit to Animal Kingdom, we saw the rollercoaster train climbing up the hill! It looks like Disney is testing the ride (without any people) as part of the refurbishment!

If you thought it was torture walking by Expedition Everest during its closure before, imagine how much worse it feels when you see the train flying down the hill!

We miss you!

Keep in mind that this attraction is still expected to remain closed through mid-April, but we’re happy to see the ride in test mode! In the meantime, stay tuned for all the latest Disney news and park updates!
