7 Closures You Need to Know About in Disney World This Week

It’s almost time for Valentine’s Day, and before you know it, spring break will arrive later this year! You know what they say, “time flies when you’re having fun!“. In Disney World, these winter months provide the perfect opportunity for some routine refurbishments before things ramp up in the spring.

Magic Kingdom

If you’re visiting Disney World during the first week of February, it’s a good idea to see what will be closed during your vacation. We’re sharing a look at everything that will be unavailable in Disney World from January 31st to February 6th, 2022.

Magic Kingdom Refurbishments

Walt Disney World Railroad

If you follow along with Disney news, you probably know that the Walt Disney World Railroad in Magic Kingdom is closed while Imagineers work on the new TRON roller coaster. As construction continues, the Walt Disney World Railroad will remain closed this week.

While we wait for an official opening date for TRON: Lightcycle Run, expect the railroad to remain closed until Disney makes the announcement!

Splash Mountain

No, this closure is not related to the Princess and the Frog transformation that will eventually re-theme Splash Mountain — this is just a routine refurbishment! Disney tends to close  Splash Mountain during the cooler months to work on sprucing up this popular attraction!

This attraction needed a little TLC!

The attraction closed for routine maintenance, but it is set to reopen soon! By February 11th, 2022, Splash Mountain should be back up and running.
