We’re Sorry, WHAT Disney World Ride Closed 74 Times in One Month?!

Summertime in Disney World means many things, but one of the biggest is that midday storms come in and cause some ride closures throughout the day.

However, we’ve also been seeing for the past few months, before the storms began to ramp up, and we’re beginning to see some of the same patterns for ride closures. We’re particularly concerned about a certain Magic Kingdom ride that seems like it’s about to give up for good, and an EPCOT attraction that we feel is being a *little* dramatic.

Magic Kingdom

So…Magic Kingdom had it rough, that’s the only way to say it. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh seems like it’s only moments away from collapsing, as it closed 56 times in 27 days, which is WILD for a ride with very little technical intensity.

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel closed 53 times in 26 days, which isn’t surprising due to the fact that it usually closes for the Magic Kingdom fireworks each night, while The Barnstormer closed 33 times in 17 days, which is…interesting.

Finally, Space Mountain closed 29 times in 18 days, which is certainly one we’re keeping an eye on, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed 28 times in 19 days. We’re hoping that number will go down as it gets more runs in, since it just reopened this past month, but we’ll see!

EPCOT

Test Track closed 74 times in 28 days, which is BEYOND WILD. Come on, Test Track, we know you’re fancy and still relatively new, but it’s been a year since your reopening. Let’s get it together, yeah?

Meanwhile, Spaceship Earth closed 43 times in 22 days, which isn’t fantastic, but hey, it’s older, so we’ll give it a break. Then, we’ve got Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which closed 39 times in 20 days. That doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, but again, we’ll just keep our eyes on it for now.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

We’re not surprised to see that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance closed 33 times in 20 days. We say this every month, but it’s true — the tech in this ride is next level, and that also means it’s more sensitive. When you’re visiting, we suggest just expecting for this ride to go down at least once during the day — potentially give yourself two different days to ride, if it’s really important to you!

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway closed 31 times in 22 days, which also isn’t wildly surprising since it also has pretty intense technical elements, but Slinky Dog Dash closed 21 times in 15 days? Yeah, we’re gonna blame that mostly on the weather.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Well, there aren’t many rides open in this park right now, if we’re being honest, but Expedition Everest came out on top, closing 22 times in 15 days. This could be due to weather, but we also think it’s partly due to the fact that this ride needs a BREAK, y’all. #fixtheyeti2026

Then we’ve got Kali River Rapids, which closed 15 times in 13 days, and that just has us shaking our heads. We’re assuming this was mostly due to weather (at least we HOPE it was) because otherwise, we’d be disappointed (yes, this is a lot of our team’s least favorite ride in the whole resort — IT’S SO SHORT).
