If you’re planning a Disney Cruise vacation, it can feel overwhelming and stressful, but it doesn’t need to be!

There are absolutely important things to know before heading for your Disney Cruise. However, you don’t want to get caught up stressing about things that aren’t actually important. We’re telling you four things that might seem like something to stress over, but they aren’t. We’re also sharing three things that are worth your attention on a Disney Cruise!
The Stressors You Can Ignore
Your Dining Rotation
One big benefit of a Disney Cruise is that it uses rotational dining across a few restaurants instead of dining at the same restaurant every night. We see a lot of talk about a “perfect” dining rotation. However, every guest will have the opportunity to eat at each restaurant while on their trip, sometimes twice.

There’s no need to stress about the order of the restaurants. The menus will be the same each night so that you won’t miss out on anything. If you are doing an adult-only dinner one night, like at Enchante, and it’s on a night you really want to go to your dining restaurant, you can talk to Guest Services onboard, or you can even go to both! On our last cruise, we went to Palo Steakhouse, and our dining rotation just to see the show.

Trying To Do It All
Disney Cruises are packed with things to do. Between places to eat, shows to see, movies to watch, trivia to win… the list goes on and on. You shouldn’t feel pressure to do it all. Disney offers so much to keep everyone entertained and to disperse the crowds.

Does everything sound fun? Absolutely. But it’s designed for you to not hit every round of BINGO, character meet and greet, and movie. When our AllEars team covers a ship, it takes a whole team to do that, and even then, we promise there was a character drawing we missed. That’s why there’s always something to do on your next Disney Cruise!

Fighting for a Spot on Deck
There are plenty of spots on deck to relax. Sure, on days at sea, there could be some crowds, but people will filter in and out all day. There’s no need to stress over finding a spot. Enjoy your day, grab some food, and relax!

Everything Not Going As Planned
Just like on any vacation, things can happen that change your plan. Maybe it’s raining one day, the seas might be rough, or the schedule gets changed. While there are things out of our control, don’t let it ruin your trip. Be flexible and prepared to make the most of each day!

What is Actually Important
Keeping Up With Your Key to the World Card
Okay, so your Key to the World Card is essential on your Disney Cruise. It’s how you can pay, get on and off the ship at ports, and more. You’ll want to keep it on you at all times. However, you can also use a MagicBand+ on your Disney Cruise that can replace your Key to the World card. Be sure to keep one of these things on you at all times.

Booking Those Extras Early
If you want to do something extra, like booking an appointment for Bippity Boppity Boutique, renting a cabana, or booking the Royal Gathering Meet and Greet. These extras fill up fast, and you don’t want to miss them! These are available to book once you are paid in full for your cruise AND based on your Castaway Club level.

Check In
Checking in for your cruise is important as it gives you your boarding group. It is based on Castway Club levels.
Here are the details on check-in windows:
- Pearl and Concierge Level — 40 days prior to sailing.
- Platinum Members — 38 days prior to sailing
- Gold Members — 35 days prior to sailing
- Silver Members — 33 days prior to sailing
- All Other Guests — 30 days prior to sailing

We know there are so many things to think about when checking in, but here are some important tips:
- Online check-in typically takes around 15 minutes (depending on how many guests are in the party)
- Make sure to have your passport, a photo for each guest (use a blank background from the shoulders up), and a credit card to put on file.
We definitely recommend checking in as early as possible. That will allow you to select the port arrival time that you want.
