It’s only been a week since Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith officially closed to make way for the new retheme, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, but Disney is already making BIG progress on the ride’s transformation.

Back in December 2025, Disney closed the pre-show for this attraction to begin the retheme early in that area, but the ride itself didn’t close its doors until March 2nd. We’ve been keeping a close eye on all the latest updates from this spot, as the new version of the ride is supposed to be ready by summer in just a few months, and recently we found that Disney has made even MORE progress on this retheme.
The first thing we noticed when we walked over was that MORE paint had been added to the car right at the entrance, further turning it into the iconic Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem van from The Muppets. Based on this progress, we’re wondering if this is one of the first parts of the refurbishment Disney is looking to complete.

As we walked further in, our eyes were immediately drawn to the scrim and walls put up in front of the large guitar. Before the scrim went up, we saw that the wording “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith” had already been taken down, but we’re wondering if now they’re also working on painting it, hence the scrim. If that is the case, we’ll likely still get a slight peek at it, as currently, the scrim and walls don’t cover the guitar all the way.

It also seems that KRNR The Rock Station, a snack stand, has also closed its windows. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar stand, newly themed, pop up in its place before the ride reopens. We loved having a spot near here to grab some classic eats, so we’re really hoping this spot will just be rethemed like the rest, instead of going away for good.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see more scrims and walls go up in this area soon, but rest assured, you’ll still be able to walk by to get to Villains: Unfairly Ever After once showtimes start each day.
