PHOTOS & VIDEOS: Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Has Reopened

It’s finally here, the day that Typhoon Lagoon reopens in Disney World!

It’s BACK, baby!

This water park has been closed for the better part of two years, even though Blizzard Beach reopened last year. But now that Blizzard Beach is under a months-long refurbishment, it’s Typhoon Lagoon’s time to shine! We’re back today for the official reopening, and we’re ready to share all the details.

Entering the Park

Remember, it has been a looong time since we’ve been here, and there are some big changes happening. Guests didn’t need a mask the last time this park was open!

When we arrived, there were plenty of parking spots available, and the bus station was right by the parking lot.

There are plenty of parking spots, or you can arrive via a Disney bus!

Getting into the park was pretty much the same as always. You can purchase tickets outside the entrance if you didn’t buy them ahead of time, then you’re all set to scan in!

You’ll need a ticket first!

Even though there was a longer line to buy tickets, there was no line to scan into the park.

Time head in!

Now, let’s get in there and have some FUN!

Atmosphere

Just like the other theme parks, there are some health and safety rules in place at Typhoon Lagoon. Here, you’ll also be required to wear face coverings indoors.

They even have some masks available!

Masks aren’t required when you’re outside, but we noticed that Disney provides disposable face masks if you don’t have one. We found these outside of the bathrooms.

Don’t forget to snap some photos!

All this excitement is making us hungry! Let’s eat.

Dining

Did you know that you can grab Joffrey’s coffee at Typhoon Lagoon? Look for this cute little Mini Donut stand! Typhoon Lagoon has several new sweet treats, so check back for a look at them!

Bonus points for the fun Imagineering!

Several fan-favorite dining locations have reopened here at Typhoon Lagoon. We headed over to the Snack Shack to try out some of the exciting Dole Whip options that are now available!

The Snack Shack sells two AMAZING Dole Whip cones! This first cone, called the Montunui Island Twist, is made with lime Dole Whip and sprinkles!

This is SO pretty!

You can also get the fan-favorite Hei Hei cone at Typhoon Lagoon, which is made with a blue cone, pineapple soft serve, raspberry soft serve, sugar “eye” pieces,” and a sour candy “comb.” Both of these treats are $5.29 at the Snack Shack.

Hey, Hei Hei!

We were happily surprised by the Habanero Lime Galley Shack Swirl! If you want an extra-spicy sip, make sure to try the chili lime salt on the rim. This crazy concoction was made with lime Dole Whip, El Jimador Silver Tequila, Habanero-Lime flavoring, Sprite, and a Lime-Chili Rim. You can get this float for $11 at the Snack Shack.

Speaking of boozy dole whip floats, we also tried the Raspberry & Pineapple Swirl with tequila! This was a strong float (we could definitely taste the tequila!) and the raspberry and pineapple tasted great together! This was sold for $11.

There are also some new treats around the park for the 50th Anniversary. Today, we tried the EARidescent Ice Dream Cone from Happy Landing Ice Cream. Fair warning, this may turn your mouth blue. You can get it for $5.29.

We can’t show you Typhoon Lagoon’s grand reopening without showing off the attractions, so let’s take a look!

Attractions

It wouldn’t be a park reopening without some fan-favorite attractions! All the popular options are back, including the ICONIC Typhoon Lagoon surf pool and that long lazy river!

Who wants to catch some waves?

It was so fun to see all our favorite attractions back up and running.

Feeling lazy? Hit the lazy river!

As you can see, there’s plenty to do at Typhoon Lagoon!

Things You Need to Know

The biggest tip we have is to check the weather before you visit Typhoon Lagoon! Disney will not refund guests on a rainy day, so look out for bad weather before your visit.

There’s nothing worse than getting rained out!

Another point to keep in mind is that some attractions might not be available during your trip. Attractions can close or go down at any time, but there are plenty of other water slides to ride!

Don’t forget that sunscreen!

And that’s it from the reopening of Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park! Thanks for coming along with us, and stay tuned to get all of Disney World’s reopening news.
