This is usually the time of year when Disney World closes down attractions to do some maintenance and refurbishment work on them.

And right now, two of Disney World’s most popular attractions have closed for refurbishment. Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom closed earlier this month for a lengthy refurbishment. And now, Splash Mountain has closed for a refurbishment, too.
However, Splash Mountain will only be closed for about a month — it’s scheduled to reopen on February 10th. In the meantime, if you visit Magic Kingdom, you’ll notice that the attraction has been closed to guests.

Construction walls have gone up around the ride…

…with more signage about the closure along the walls. Splash Mountain “is closed for a spell,” not forever!

Otherwise, Splash Mountain currently looks pretty much the same!

We saw Cast Members near the entrance of Splash Mountain playing games with guests, such as a clapping square, which is basically a square shape made by masking tape on the ground. Every time a guest stands in the square, they are treated to applause!

It’s always a bit of a hassle when a favorite ride goes down, but this is why we always remind guests to check with the Disney World calendar before heading to the parks. And you can always check with us, too, because we’ll keep you updated on every closure at Disney World.
Why today is a BIG deal for the Disney Parks!

Wonder if this is the big “change” we heard about many moons ago. Because people are offended by a animatronic rabbit and friends
