Do you know what stinks? (No, we’re not here to talk about that scene in It’s Tough to Be a Bug) Being let down in Disney World! If you happen to visit the parks without any prior research, you might encounter a temporary closure or refurbishment project that you weren’t expecting! Don’t set yourself up for failure; stick around for our weekly refurbishment update.
Planning a trip to Disney World towards the end of February? You’re in the right place! Let’s take a look at everything that will be unavailable in Disney World from February 21st to February 27th, 2022.
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad in the Magic Kingdom has been closed for a long time, and the closure is expected to continue this week! Currently, Imagineers are working on the new TRON roller coaster, but that construction gets in the way of the railroad. (The train goes right through the construction zone, unfortunately)
While we wait for Disney to share some good news about the future of TRON: Lightcycle Run, all we can do is daydream about taking a ride on the old Disney World train!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Refurbishments
Expedition Everest — Legend of the Forbidden Mountain in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is down for a lengthy refurbishment! Way back on January 4th, the attraction closed for a 3-month refurbishment. As we finish up the month of February, we’re one step closer to the reopening date!
According to Disney, this attraction will remain closed through mid-April 2022. A few weeks ago we spotted some attraction vehicle testing, which is good news!

In the Morocco pavilion in the EPCOT World Showcase, the Souk-Al-Magreb gift shop is currently closed. This store was originally supposed to reopen on February 6th, but the store is still closed with no reopening date currently listed.
If you’re looking for a fun EPCOT souvenir, try the House of Good Fortune store in the China pavilion instead!
Disney World Water Park Refurbishments
Blizzard Beach Waterpark
Now that the weather is warming up, you might be tempted to hit the water parks! Keep in mind that Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently closed for seasonal refurbishments.
In the meantime, Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is currently open! We’re still waiting on a reopening date, so stay tuned for an update!

Saratoga Springs has two other pools, the High Rock Spring Pool and the Paddock Pool, that will remain open for guests.

We are going to Disney World March 30-April 4 can you tell me what will be closed then? Thanks!
Is the real Tangierine Cafe going to reopen in the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot? It is one of my favorite lunch locations. The current incarnation is not an adequate substitute.
