Sometimes, with a great risk comes a great reward. Or maybe that’s great power and responsibility, but either way, sometimes during your Disney World vacation, a risk can either pay off or leave you without being able to ride your favorite attraction.
One of our favorite tips is to hop in line for those super popular attractions right before the park closes at night. We recommend joining the queues around 15-20 minutes before the park closes to make sure they don’t close the line early, and even though the park is closed, they won’t kick you out of the queue until after you ride, meaning you can make your park day longer and ride those popular attractions without worrying if you won’t have time to ride the rest of your favorites. Why is this so risky?
Rides at Disney World randomly close down all the time. Maybe it’s the weather, malfunctions, or even someone dropping a hat on Space Mountain; it just depends, and you can never guarantee that a ride will be open. So if you wait till the end of the night to ride the most popular attractions, they might close, and with no time for Disney to work on the ride and reopen it, you’ll find yourself unable to ride them.
Let’s take a look at the wait times for Saturday, October 25th, 2025, and see if waiting till the end of the day for certain attractions was worth the risk!
Magic Kingdom
In Magic Kingdom, your risk would have been worth it! I love to hop in line for TRON Lightcycle / Run about 20 minutes before the park closes, and on October 25th, the ride was open all day, which was a win. TRON and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure both close for bad weather, so keep that in mind before planning to ride one of them at night.

It was down from 7 PM till closing, with waits popping up over an hour throughout the day, though mostly around 45 minutes. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind can also be a great choice for the late-night sneak-ins.

Yes, it usually has a long line, but this ride breaks down all the time, and if you wait till later, you might not be able to ride. Yesterday, Tower of Terror would have been the ride to hop on before the night ended!
