YIKES. Read the Disney World Review That Warns: “Think Airport Lounge with Frozen Desserts”

There are a lot of different dining experiences in Disney World, and many come with a LOT of expectations. This is especially true of pricier dining experiences, and where most don’t usually disappoint, one of our readers recently shared one that did.

Fireworks Dining Party

Now, here’s the deal: we often ask our readers to share their experiences with us, and sometimes, your brutal honesty makes us really think. So we’re going to share this review that one of you shared with us that made us say, “Yikes!”

We took to Facebook to ask you, our readers, if a dining experience in Disney World ever surprised you. You didn’t hesitate to tell us. But one review on that post really stood out. The Boujee Browns wrote, “The Boujee Browns
Recently just did Celebration at the Top, Sip, Savor, Sparkle in The Contemporary, and it was horrendous! Cost $372, and we walked out after 1 hour. The food was all cold, the service was poor, and the variety of drinks was dreadful (not the open bar they state). We would never return as it was such a terrible experience. Think airport lounge with frozen desserts.

OUCH.

Celebration at the Top

Celebration at the Top – Sip, Savor, Sparkle is a special fireworks party you can book at California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. For $169 per person, you can enjoy sushi, small bites, dishes from the restaurant’s menu, and desserts. Guests over the age of 21 can also enjoy a complimentary open bar. Then you can view Magic Kingdom’s fireworks from a private observation deck while the music is piped in. After, you head back into the restaurant to enjoy “a sweet spread of petit four desserts, cordials and coffee.”

After party snacks

Note that this is the only Magic Kingdom fireworks party that has a dress code. Disney World’s website reads: “Guests are expected to dress accordingly in attire that respects the sophisticated and upscale aesthetic of this experience. Clothing should be clean, neat, and in good condition. Please no swimwear.”

So you would expect a quality experience, right? From these comments, it sounds like expectations about the party weren’t met for these guests, including food and service quality, as well as the variety of drinks.

Drinks are included in the price!

We’re pretty surprised, though, because we booked this dining experience several years ago and really liked it. In fact, it was one of our favorite Magic Kingdom fireworks parties. So we’re not sure what happened here, but at least one group was not happy with it.
