4 Things Disney World Cast Members Won’t Tell You — But We Will

In Disney World, you probably can’t walk more than a few steps without running into a Cast Member. From the free Disney transportation to the rides we all know and love, they’re in charge of everything!

But listen, there are probably a few things Disney World Cast Members don’t want to share with everyone. We’re not here to break any rules, of course, but are here to share four things Disney World Cast Members won’t tell you — but we will. 

The park hours aren’t entirely accurate.

Let’s say Magic Kingdom is scheduled to be open from 9AM to 11PM. That doesn’t mean the gates swing open to everyone at 9AM, then close swiftly at 11PM.

Disney World hotel guests can take advantage of Early Entry and Extended Evening Hours on select dates throughout the year, meaning you might find a park full of people in Magic Kingdom at 8:30 in the morning!

Plus, you may end up in the parks before the official opening time if you’ve got an early breakfast reservation in the parks!

Disney World Cast Members may not be vocal about this, but you can usually hang out on Main Street, U.S.A. for a bit after the park officially closes. In Magic Kingdom, Main Street, U.S.A. tends to stay open while guests get in a little last-minute shopping at the Emporium. We’re not suggesting you stay on Main Street forever, but you can probably hang back for a while as the crowds filter out.

Cast Compliments are VERY much appreciated.

Obviously, Cast Members aren’t going to come right out and ask for a Cast Compliment, but know that they are very appreciated.

Wondering what a Cast Compliment is? Well, if you’ve ever had a Cast Member go above and beyond or made a little magic for you, you can share your appreciation!

To do so, first, make sure you take note of the date, location, hometown, and name of the Cast Member you want to recognize. Then, you can search “Cast Compliment” on the My Disney Experience app and submit your mobile compliment!

Sometimes, you can make some snack adjustments if you ask nicely.

Let’s say you don’t want the white chocolate decoration on your dessert, or you’d like to swirl two flavors of soft serve together. Sometimes, if you ask nicely, Cast Members can make adjustments to your snacks!

We can’t guarantee that Cast Members will be able to make all your special requests possible, but it’s worth asking! You never know what kind of unique new treat you might come up with.

If you ask what time the three o’clock parade is, Cast Members are probably secretly laughing at you.

Cast Members hear it all the time: “What time is the three o’clock parade?”

Of course, Cast Members will happily reply, “Festival of Fantasy starts at 3PM,” but know that they’re probably laughing on the inside. What they probably WANT to say is, “Say your question again, veryyyy slowly. You have your answer.” But hey, we get it. It’s hot, you’re busy, there’s a lot going on in Disney World.
