What You Need to Know About the Shorter Return Window at Rise of the Resistance in Disney World

Afters a nearly four month long closure, Rise of the Resistance is back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

However, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be using a new modified Virtual Queue that gives more guests the opportunity to ride the attraction. Instead of everyone getting to the park early before it opens, there will be Boarding Group availability at 10AM,  1PM, and 4PM.

However, on top of the changes to actually joining the Virtual Queue, Rise of the Resistance is also operating with a shorter return window. Previously, guests had two hours to head back to the attraction. But, now that has been limited to only a one hour return window in order to allow more guests the opportunity to ride and prevent crowding.

Although this new window is being used as a health and safety precaution, it can seem a bit worrisome to guests who may have dining reservations or Droid Depot reservations set up during the same time.

While this generally might seem like a problem, a Cast Member assured us that they would be understanding of those with a Boarding Pass that may need to arrive later due to a reservation. We recommend taking a screenshot of your Boarding Pass, along with any reservation time that you have, and speaking with a Cast Member if you find you are late to your return time window.

The Cast Members will then allow you to go on Rise of the Resistance, even if you missed your return time with this proof. Guest Relations is also available if there any other problems encountered, like the strange glitch we saw earlier (but it was luckily solved!).

Luckily, knowing where your return window will fall will now be easier, due to My Disney Experience adding an estimated wait time for Boarding Passes.

Although guests are going to have to learn a new way of visiting Rise of the Resistance, the ride is still just as high-tech and awesome!
