Disney World’s water parks aren’t often the main attraction for families on vacation, which is part of the reason that, for many years now, only one of the water parks has been open at a time.

However, thanks to one of the most recent hotel perks, Disney World hotel guests receive complimentary entry to any of the resort’s water parks that are open on the day of check-in. This has caused some sizable crowds to arrive at Blizzard Beach, but there’s a big change coming soon that you need to know about — Typhoon Lagoon is reopening!
Get ready for a BIG change! For YEARS now, at least one of the six Disney World parks has been closed for refurbishment and maintenance. But for the first time since 2019, Disney World will have all six of its parks (meaning the four theme parks and two water parks) open at the same time. All throughout the summer, both Typhoon Lagoon AND Blizzard Beach will be open! Both parks will operate at the same time from May 21st through September 7th.

Now, this is important, so listen up! For about two weeks, Blizzard Beach will temporarily close, and Typhoon Lagoon will be the only water park open in Disney World. Blizzard Beach will temporarily close between May 1st and May 20th.

But starting May 21st, if you’re staying in a Disney World hotel, you can choose which water park you’d like to visit to take advantage of that free water park perk (on the day of check-in). SCORE!

Oh, and don’t forget — H20 Glow After Hours are BACK at Typhoon Lagoon this summer! This special nighttime event runs on select nights between May 23rd and September 13th. There are complimentary snacks, Toy Story characters, music, and shorter lines.

It’s extremely overdue that Blizard Beach be upgraded into a full park with an Always Christmas land, a Frozen land, a Winter Olympics land and a few ‘dry’ rides and better nighttime lighting, with a few shows and concerts.
Typhoon Lagoon can be transformed into Pirates, Hurricane on a Riverboats, and a SpaceX rocket landing and splashdown. Also night lighting, stages and shows and a few ‘dry rides.
