3 CHANGES Happening in February in Disney World

February is bringing some real shifts to Disney World, and a few of them are the kind that will have fans feeling all the feelings.

Dinoland U.S.A.

If you are heading to the parks this month or planning a future trip, there are some important updates you should know about. A classic ride is saying goodbye, one EPCOT favorite is getting a refresh, and the water park lineup is doing its seasonal swap. Let’s walk through the three biggest changes happening in Disney World in February so you know exactly what to expect.

DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus Are Officially Closing

One of the biggest changes this February is the permanent closure of DINOSAUR in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The attraction will officially close on February 2nd, 2026, which means February 1st will be the final day guests can hop in a Time Rover and try to bring back that Iguanodon. This also marks the end of Restaurantosaurus, which is closing on the same day.

Dinosaur

These two locations are the final remaining pieces of DinoLand U.S.A., and their closures officially wrap up the land as we know it. Several other DinoLand offerings have already closed, including TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, The Boneyard, Trilo Bites, and Dino Bite Snacks. February is the moment when the last lights go out on this longtime corner of the park.

Restaurantosaurus

These closures make way for the upcoming Tropical Americas land, also known as Pueblo Esperanza. Construction is already underway, and the new area is set to open in 2027. The land will span about 11 acres and is designed to feel lived in, much like Harambe. Guests can expect a large quick service restaurant inside a hacienda, new attractions inspired by Indiana Jones and Encanto, a central fountain, and a carousel created by a local woodcarver that features animals from Disney stories. DinoLand fans still have a little time left, but February is the true turning point.

Frozen Ever After Is Reopening With Major Updates

Over at EPCOT, Frozen Ever After is in the middle of a much-talked-about refurbishment. The attraction temporarily closed on January 26th, 2026, and is scheduled to reopen sometime in February. While Disney has not announced an exact reopening date yet, we do know what is changing.

Anna and Kristoff in Frozen Ever After at EPCOT

Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff are all receiving updates to their Audio Animatronics. When Frozen Ever After opened in 2016, it introduced groundbreaking all-electric animatronics that used electric motors and 3D printing. Elsa’s detailed hand movements and fluid animation were a huge leap forward at the time. Over the years, though, one aspect of the ride has sparked plenty of conversation, which is the projected faces on the characters.

Frozen Ever After in Hong Kong

After nearly ten years, those projected faces are being replaced with new designs inspired by the figures at World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland. The goal is a more true-to-film look, and based on the international versions, these updates are expected to be impressive. February is when guests will finally start seeing these changes in person.

The Disney Water Parks Are Switching

February also brings a seasonal change to Disney’s water parks. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is currently open and will remain available through February 14th, 2026. On February 15th, Blizzard Beach will reopen, taking over as the active water park.

The good news here is that there is no gap between parks. Guests will still have a water park option every day during this transition. This switch is part of Disney’s regular rotation to allow for maintenance and upkeep, but it is still something worth noting if a water park day is part of your plans.

February is shaping up to be a month of endings and upgrades across Disney World. From saying goodbye to DinoLand to welcoming refreshed Frozen animatronics and a water park swap, these changes are worth keeping on your radar.
