We Go to Disney World Every Day — and You’re Skipping the Best Parts!

Walt Disney World is known for its iconic locations: Cinderella Castle with its soaring turrets, Spaceship Earth with its angles making up the whole, and the Tree of Life with its hundreds of animal carvings — just to name a few!

Magic Kingdom

But today we’re going off the beaten path to check out these underrated spots in the parks and resorts that you might totally skip over otherwise!

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom has some of the most highly sought-after restaurants in Disney World. While many guests will set their alarms bright and early to make those Advance Dining Reservations for Be Our Guest and Cinderella’s Royal Table, we’re going to suggest you check out Skipper Canteen.

Skipper Canteen is one of the finest dining options for Jungle Cruise travelers!

Also known by its much longer official name, Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen, this Table Service restaurant is nestled in Adventureland right near the entrance to Jungle Cruise. Themed after the classic ride, Skipper Canteen serves up tasty dishes and quintessential Skipper humor.

Since this isn’t the hottest restaurant in town, it’s typically a bit quieter than the main thoroughfare, making it an ideal choice for a quieter meal with the family. Don’t worry — just because it’s an easier reservation to grab, doesn’t mean it’s not a top-tier dining experience!

EPCOT

There is so much to see and do in EPCOT, it might be hard to complete your “to do” list in just one day! World Showcase alone can take all day if you’re taking in all of the sights and sounds (and tastes) the Pavilions have to offer.

World Showcase

Some of the Pavilions are packed with activity and are very lively; others are pretty quiet in comparison. Don’t make the mistake of completely skipping over the Pavilions that may seem like there’s less to offer.

Morocco Pavilion

If you need a quiet break away from the crowds, make the trek to the Morocco or Canada Pavilions. Both of these Pavilions have tucked away corners where you can find a place to sit and take a breather. Both of these Pavilions are exceptionally beautiful, and to be perfectly honest, we could spend all day in both of them and just chill!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is full of underrated spots to take a breather or have a completely unique Disney World experience! We’ve talked at length in the past about how underrated the nature walking trails are, which include the Discovery Island Trails, Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, and Maharajah Jungle Trek!

When you get hungry after all of that walking, head over to Nomad Lounge for some small plates and a cocktail (or two!). Nomad Lounge could be growing in popularity, so it may not be as “under the radar” as it was in the past! However, it’s still a lovely corner of Animal Kingdom with laid back vibes.

Resort Hotels

The theme parks aren’t the only locations in Disney World with some underrated spots. In fact, you could say that just about everything OUTSIDE of the parks is frequently overlooked! If you have time, totally take a half or full day and check out the resort hotels.

Lots of the larger resort hotels have running trails!

Your resort hotel may have a few underrated spots, like walking and running trails to stroll along in the morning or evening. Specifically, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn has a wonderful vibe and is especially quiet during the daytime hours. If you want a more lively atmosphere, check out the BoardWalk at night!

We hope this list gave you a few ideas for new places to check out on your next trip to Disney World! Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to take a break or you want to explore new corners of the theme parks, you might discover a new favorite spot!
