Here are 4 Types of Disney World Reservations You CAN Make Last Minute!

Planning a trip to Disney World is almost as fun as the trip itself. When we book an upcoming trip, we’re ready to make reservations as soon as possible to get all the best dining, FastPasses, and more! But, we know that trips aren’t always booked over six months ahead of time, and some reservations have to be made last minute.

Just because you CAN book far ahead of time, doesn’t mean you HAVE to. There are four major categories of reservations that you can easily make last minute and still have a magical vacation!

Dining

Some restaurants are notorious for filling up 180 days ahead of time. Locations such as Be Our Guest, California Grill, Victoria & Albert’s, and Cinderella’s Royal Table are typically among the first restaurants to be completely booked six months early.

If you book your Disney World vacation within six months of check in and you fear you’ve missed out on all the best dining options, don’t fear! Many Disney World restaurants will still have availability up until the day of. Even those hard-to-get restaurants could have last minute availability pop up as people change their plans, so it’s never a bad idea to keep checking in on any restaurants you particularly want to check out!

While we will always recommend you book your dining as early as possible, especially for some of the most popular restaurants, don’t think just because you weren’t able to that you have totally lost your chance at a magical vacation. Beside, who knows? Maybe you’ll discover a new favorite restaurant from booking last minute.

FastPass+

Like dining, there are a few FastPass+ reservations that are really difficult to come by if you aren’t ready to book 60 days ahead of time. Attractions like Flight of Passage, Slinky Dog Dash, and Millennium Falcon Smugger’s Run can be tricky to snag.

But fear not! There are MANY FastPass+ reservations that are easy to book last minute. In fact, the vast majority of rides should be available days before you depart, especially if you’re visiting during an off-season. Of course, we recommend booking as early as possible, but if you don’t get your top picks right away, KEEP CHECKING!

We’ve seen FastPass+ times pop up same-day for many popular rides, including those we mentioned earlier. People change their plans all the time and may cancel their FastPass+ reservations, so keep refreshing My Disney Experience while you’re at the parks.

Tours

Did you know that Disney World offers several behind-the-scenes tours? These vary in length and price, but if it’s in your budget, a tour can really enhance your experience and you can learn so much about the parks in the process!

Tours typically don’t fill up as early as you may think. Some tours, including the Behind the Seeds Tour at Epcot, typically have day-of availability and multiple tour times to choose from. Longer walking tours like Wild Africa Trek in Animal Kingdom are also known to have availability in the weeks leading up to your trip, especially in the off-season.

We recommend calling Disney to book a tour as soon as you know which one you would like to book, and when you want to go, to make sure you get the time that works best with your schedule. Just keep in mind that you can typically wait until a week or two before your vacation to actually book.

Recreation, Spas, and Classes

This last category is sort of a “catch all” for recreation and other activities that can enhance your Disney World vacation. These include boat rentals, horseback rides, fishing excursions, massages, nail salon appointments, yoga classes, and just about everything in between!

If you happen to visit during an Epcot food festival, there are several seminars and demonstrations you can book ahead of time as well. Some celebrity chef demonstrations do book up rather quick, so you’ll want to be ready to snag a reservation early for those.
