There’s an old acronym EPCOT fans use to describe the massive park. EPCOT: Every Person Comes Out Tired. While we love a walk around EPCOT’s World Showcase, it can be exhausting moving through that park!

EPCOT: Every Person Comes Out TIRED!

Of course, the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are all pretty spread out, too, so be prepared to WALK on your next trip to Disney World

We visit Disney parks pretty much every day, so we see a LOT of Disney guests making the same mistake. Sure, we might spot a park guest posing in an adorable outfit, but we just know the pain that comes from sacrificing comfort for the sake of a trendy outfit.

We’re here to answer your theme park fashion questions!

From flat flip-flops to ankle-breaking platform sandals, we’re here to tell you to STOP wearing uncomfortable shoes to Disney World! Luckily, it is possible to wear stylish shoes and avoid painful blisters — let us show you.

Wear This Instead: Sandals

If you love the ease of slipping on a pair of flip-flops and walking out the door, swap those shoes for a pair of Chaco Women’s Z1 Classic Sandals.

These flexible sandals have arch support, a cushioned footbed, and straps that secure your foot in place — even on Soarin’. If you’re looking for a comfortable alternative to your old sandals, invest in a pair of Chacos.

This Anna-inspired outfit is a great example of how to style your Chacos while Disney bounding.

While we’re on the subject of sandals, let’s talk style. These days, even celebrities are sporting TEVA Original Sandals in Disney parks!

If you need proof that both trendy AND comfortable sandals exist, look no further than supermodel Gigi Hadid herself! TEVAs sandals come in tons of different colors and patterns, ranging from plain black to multicolored, so you’ve got plenty of options.

Of course, we can’t talk about comfortable shoes without mentioning the classic Birkenstock Arizona Essentials.  These waterproof shoes are perfect for an unexpected summer rainstorm or a ride on Kali River Rapids.

These sandals achieve a similar look but at a more affordable price point from Amazon. They have two adjustable straps to help keep your foot in place and to prevent blisters.

They offer a similar style and comfort for a fraction of the cost. They offer sizes 6-11 and come in a variety of options.

The rain can be a real part of your Disney vacation so you should be prepared. This outfit goes great with sandals to give you comfort and style in the rain.

Another great alternative might be these CUSHIONAIRE Women’s Feather recovery slide sandals. They have a foam sole and are waterproof, which is essential in the stormy summer season.

They come in sizes 5-12 and also come in a variety of colors to match your outfits.

You can also pair them with a cute, casual outfit for a sunny park day at Animal Kingdom. We love the neutral sandal option here.

There you have it! Comfortable and stylish footwear for your entire trip. Just remember that new shoes can still rub you the wrong way even if they’re comfortable, so make sure you break these in before wearing them to the parks.

  1. I was always amazed at the women in heels! Usually from other countries.
I guess they never got the message about comfy shoes. Yikes!

  2. I love my Crocs. I can wear the back strap up or back behind my heel. They are fine for splashing through rains. I can even color coordinate with my outfit.

  3. Sandals are not a good idea. Have you ever had to wade through a gross puddle of park back up after a sudden Florida rain storm? It’s not fun.

  4. Any shoe that doesn’t have a back is dangerous in a crowd. Someone can step on the back and break your foot. So maybe just stick to the first option of sandal in this post. I wear cute outfits and match a cute pair of cross trainers with them.

  5. Omg, seeing those flat flip flops make my feet hurt just looking at them! Don’t know how people do it! I bought some Hoka sneakers a couple years ago and they have been a game changer for me.

  6. Broken in athletic shoes. New Balance, Nike, whatever. And take moleskin. Socks that wick moisture like Bombas.

  7. We wear Mephisto or Finn Comfort shoes and sandals. Expensive, yes, but they are resoluble.
I have a pair of Mephistos’ that I purchase in 2001 and have worn them to DW over 8 times without aching feet, legs or back
