The Late Night Problems You’re NOT Thinking About in Disney World

There’s something about Disney World at night that’s simply…magical!

EPCOT at night

If you’ve ever seen Spaceship Earth colored in purple and orange or Main Street, U.S.A. all lit up, then you know exactly what we mean. The parks truly come alive at night and it’s definitely something you shouldn’t miss! However, if you’re in Disney World late in the evening, there are some problems that you’ll encounter — ones that you probably haven’t thought about.

No Parking Trams

Ever since Disney World reopened, the parking lot trams have been temporarily unavailable. This means that guests are required to walk from their cars to the front gate of the park — on the way in AND on the way out.

This sign makes us sad!

That walk may not seem like much when you’re headed into the park and filled with excitement, but on the way out it can be a bear.

We can’t wait to ride them again!

After you’ve had a 20,000 step day, the extra couple hundred feet to your car may seem impossible. Just remember to take some time to relax during the day and try not to wear yourself out too much!

Slow Transportation

And speaking of transportation, the options that ARE up and running at the end of the night are not known for being the fastest. Whether you’re taking a bus to another park, heading back to your resort, or trying to make your way to the Transportation & Ticket Center via monorail or ferryboat, you may be waiting a while.

You may wait a while for the ferry at the end of the night.

As hoards of people leave the parks at the end of the night (especially since the return of fireworks!), transportation options get a little backed up across the board.

The line for the Skyliner stretched all the way back to Beach Club!

We’ve seen incredibly long lines for the Skyliner and monorail, and we’ve been the people before who had to wait for 2 or 3 buses to come and go before we got our turn.

No Dining Options

Right now, the late-night dining choices are pretty slim in Walt Disney World. If you’re still in the parks, you should know that Mobile Order windows fill up quickly for the Quick Service restaurants, so you may have a hard time placing an order at the end of the day.

Mobile Ordering is all over the place at Disney World these days!

Once you leave the parks, very few locations are open late. You may find sparse options at some resorts (like the BoardWalk), but otherwise, you may get stuck having to order food and have it delivered.

There are plenty of places to eat at Disney Springs!

If it’s still open, your best bet may be to head to Disney Springs and choose from the many restaurants and snack stands there.

No Buses to Disney Springs

Speaking of heading to Disney Springs after a long park day, you’ll have a hard time getting there! There are no buses to Disney Springs from the parks right now, so you’ll have to go to a resort and bus from there, drive yourself, or take a rideshare.

You won’t find a bus to the parks here! (Or vice versa!)

Using one of these methods can get a little complicated and take extra time, especially if you don’t have many hours left before Disney Springs closes. You’ll just want to plan ahead and make sure you know what you’d like to do before the end of the day.

There’s so much to do in Disney Springs, you don’t want to miss out.

There you have it — four problems that you’ll have late at night in Disney World right now. As more things continue to reopen, these problems may become less of a hassle. But for now, make sure to pack your patient pants, as we say here at AllEars!
