We’re easing into that busy time of the year in Disney World with back-to-back holidays in the parks. While we’ve recently seen an increase of crowds with the Halloween season, the holidays are bringing in more guests as Disney Park Pass reservations continue to fill up.

In order to accommodate more guests while maintaining capacity and distancing efforts, Disney has started to take new measures at attractions throughout the parks. When Disney’s Hollywood Studios originally opened, the Boarding Group system saw a shift that required guests to be in the park at 10 AM for the first round of Rise of the Resistance passes for the day.
However, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has recently changed its procedures to reduced the stream of crowds in the mornings. Now, guests will be able to book their Rise of the Resistance Boarding Passes at 7AM from wherever they are, whether they’re at a resort or heading to breakfast.

Although the new system will debut on November 3rd, we’re giving you a run-down on the three things you need to know about Rise of the Resistance before you head back to Galaxy’s Edge soon!
Morning Passes Have No Set Distance
Since Disney’s Hollywood Studios won’t be opening until 10AM still, the new system allows guests to reserve their spots early in the morning without the stress of rushing to the park. So, that means you can wake up and snag a Boarding Pass before even grabbing your morning coffee!

Disney has also stated that there is no set distance of where you can book a Boarding Pass in the morning. If you’re looking to have a Table Service meal before your park visit or a more relaxed morning in your resort room, it doesn’t matter where you’re at while you’re making those reservations now!

However, guests that are looking to join the second round of Boarding Groups distributed at 2PM will need to be in Disney’s Hollywood Studios when they go live on the My Disney Experience app.
You WILL Need a Park Pass to Book a Boarding Pass
While you may not need to be in a specific place when you’re booking your spots on Rise of the Resistance, you will need to have a Disney Park Pass for Hollywood Studios to do so.

A Cast Member confirmed with us that this was the only requirement of the new system, so it’s important to make sure that you have your reservations in place early!

As Disney’s Hollywood Studios continues to be one of the parks that sells out the quickest, we recommend getting your Disney Park Passes as soon as possible ahead of your vacation.
Disney World’s Starting to Increase Ride Vehicle Capacity
The parks are currently set at 25% of their total capacity in Disney World. However, the increase of crowds means that the attraction queues and wait times have started to get longer and longer. In order to maintain distancing and bring more guests onto the rides at a time, certain attractions around the parks have installed plexiglass barriers on ride vehicles.

Along with Slinky Dog Dash, Rise of the Resistance is the other attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that has placed more plexiglass barriers at the attraction to increase the rider capacity. Since more guests are able to be boarded onto ride vehicles, this could mean that additional Boarding Groups will be available through the new system as well.

However, the amount of guests and groups reserving spots on the attraction throughout the day could change the Boarding Group availability depending on the crowds. While other attractions around the parks haven’t installed plexiglass barriers yet, we’ll make sure to keep an eye out for any attraction updates around Disney World!
