During Disney World’s phased reopening, several events and offerings have been suspended or cancelled altogether to further promote their new health and safety guidelines.

After hearing the news that Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party had been cancelled for 2020, we’ve been keeping a close eye on the rest of the holiday season for more cancellations.
We’ve just learned that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has been cancelled for 2020, according to an announcement from the Disney Parks Blog. After seeing most major Halloween events at theme parks across the country be cancelled, it was more than likely we would see cancellations for Christmas as well.

Despite there being no parties this year, Magic Kingdom will still be transformed into a festive holiday wonderland starting on November 6th through December 30th. In a statement made on the Parks Blog, Disney noted that they “know these experiences are a cherished part of holiday traditions that will be missed by guests and cast members alike, but we’re glad to be able to bring holiday magic in other creative ways.”

Seasonal decor, merchandise, and food and beverage offerings will be available for guests, so we will keep a close eye on that and will report back when more details emerge!
EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays WILL be happening this year — read all about it here!
