As Disney continues to update its parks, new experiences are popping up all over the property. As the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel is in the works (even though it’s more like a cruise with an itinerary instead of a resort stay), we’ve been keeping up with all the news surrounding its construction!
While reservations for the Star Wars hotel were originally planned to go live later this year, we still don’t know when guests will be able to start their galactic adventure.
However, @bioreconstruct gave us an aerial look at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser’s progress in Disney World! Although we saw the infrastructure of the hotel start to go up at the beginning of the year, construction around the property halted during the closures.

But, the hotel has started to see the formation of its entrance terminal and transport pod that will take guests to the Halcyon as they board the Galactic Starcruiser.

Guests visiting the hotel will have an excursion to Batuu (although most of the stay is all-inclusive). A ramp has started to be formed where people will be able to go straight from the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser over to Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios.

Just like everything else in life, it will be worth what people are willing to pay to fill it up. I’m sure prices wi be high at the start. If it gets great reviews, prices will rise. If reviews are bad and they can’t fill it, prices will fall.
Disney is a business first and foremost. They have been catering to the upper class for many years now as they are willing to pay. They are not catering to my family, a family that stays offsite and brings in our own food to snack on in the parks. But I still love going even if I’m not in the Disney bubble.
I wish they would have scrapped this instead of all of the other stuff. It’s just another thing for the elite who can afford it, and even for them it’s more of a one and done. I’m hating that Disney has become a playground for the rich. Just thinking about the prices of the deluxe hotels makes me sick. Even if I hit the lottery I would have trouble talking myself into $700 a night rooms because they are on par with every $150 room I’ve ever seen. It just baffles me that people are willing to pay those prices but they do. I always wonder at what point do people say, “that’s just stupid! I’m not paying that per night!” Seeing what they are charging for pretty much everything makes me think that the entire world must be more rich than I. A large family could easily plop down $10,000 on a Disney trip. It’s a fun place but nothing is THAT fun! I’ve only stayed on property a handful of times out of 30 trips and at every class level but it was back when you got deep discounts for AP’s when you could get a room at AKL for $139 a night. Those were the days! Cannot wait to see this Star Wars price tag.
Imagine a cosplay star cruiser, to transport you to a large, over crowded, strip mall ?
Now that is amazing !
Nothing is new in those pics…
